I think AV should play Slapski next monday
- NewYawkIslandez

Actually think that would be the perfect time for it.

A rookie goes out and beats the mighty Islanders and everything is gravy but if he doesn't it can be chalked up to him being a rookie. The Rangers need a little bit of a spark to ignite themselves against the Islanders and having a rookie get his NHL start might provide it.

St Louis is force fed the puck a lot. Especially from Boyle. With all the times MSL is forced the puck, I think that explains the points difference btwn him and Zucc. I think MSL should actually have more points considering how many chances he gets. Zucc creates so much more on his own. Zucc carries the puck so much better. Passes better. St Louis is just fading fast in his ability to execute what he wants to do. MSL is becoming more of a secondary player to keep the puck moving and cycling and also one who you wanna feed to try to finish a play. Zucc carries, creates and evolves the offense by himself a lot of times.

Cam is having a hard time but the team isn't helping at all. Way too many wide open chances from high scoring areas with nobody pressuring the shooter. Reily was able to skate in and take steps with the puck in the red zone, and even have time to look up and pick a corner. I mean, an NHL shooter has a pretty good chance to bury it when you give him that much time and space. Cam can be better, but if you expect him to make all of these saves against quality chances of this type, well then what are we paying Lundqvist for? Cam is no Lundqvist, but if the team tightens up a bit, I think he should return back to how he was performing. I mean, these 4 games have been the anomally from his normal performance.

San Jose seems to be playing Hannan over 20 minutes a night, I am just not sure why they would get rid of him

question, who you guys rather have playing 6th Dman - JMoore or Scott Hannan from SJS? Hannan only has a $1M cap hit. his game isnt sexy but i think it would be a slight upgrade over Moore.
- richardson30

J.Moore. as a 6th dman I don't get why everyone wants him gone.

All good questions. I have no idea whatsoever about Skapski, except he looks like he is 6 years old, and just seems awestruck. If it is just going to be another 10 games, play Talbot until he drops as far as I am concerned. If it may be more, than maybe a guy like Enroth would fit the bill, although really haven't watched much of him this year.

I would like to take credit, but there are only about 3-4 guys (or less) that even make sense for the Rangers to inquire about.

MSL has definitely been disappointing, probably since New Year's Eve when he scored that great goal in Florida.

But, he has proven he is a big time playoff performer, that's why he is here

I am wondering if any of you caught the exchange between Zucc and Komarov in the third period. They were jawing at the end of the bench, and Komarov was telling Zucc to go frank himself, frank you et which was clear as day on the TSN broadcast. The next shift, Zucc scored, and stared down the Toronto bench.

Might have to piss him off a little more often.

He has been great in the last two weeks, ever since the comment section on this page turned south on him. Maybe he reads.

I did see that and yep, he has really turned it around. If everyone gets on MSL's case now that's fine, that should get him going too.

Seriously, I am a little concerned about what is going on with MSL. I usually don't get too concerned when a top player has a bad couple months, but he is a serious ghost right now. I hope he is just going through a bit of a spot, and will get it geared up.

I think Zucc's performance became dominant ever since his agent flew over and had that meeting. Around that time, Zucc was quoted to say he wanted to stay in NY but he didn't know if the Rangers would still want him but he knew he would be playing somewhere next year... I think maybe his agent told him to start playing like NY didn't have a choice but to resign him.

I honestly think his time is just coming up. At 40 years old, you can lose a step very quickly and simply never regain it. St Louis is not a slow player, but the Rangers are considered one of the fastest teams in the league. It can't be easy for a 40 year old to keep up that pace...and I'm not just talking about skating...I mean executing clean plays quickly. That seems like where he fumbles a lot of times. He loses control of the puck, doesn't get a clean shot off, shanks the puck a little, struggles sometimes making the quick play, etc... He's always gonna be that guy with the natural ability to score that big goal if he is setup well...but I think his days of creating offense by himself are over.

I really don't see MSL doing anything on the ice that Duclair couldn't start doing. MSL is not exactly that great of a defensive player either. Duclair with some more practice and NHL experience would bring us more than MSL on the ice. The locker room will miss MSL's presence, but there are also enough leaders emerging from our team. Staal, McD, Girardi, Stepan, Nash, Boyle, Hank, D Moore, all considered good Vets already.

I still think its a mute point. As long as he wants to come back and play I think the Rangers will give him one year deals going forward.

I have no problem going into the playoffs with Moore as the 6th defensman, he and Klein were an excellent pair in the playoffs, my only concern is when Boyle is his partner

I will never look at smurfs the same way after a friend of mine sent me a link to a different version of the smurfs. Ruined my childhood memories.

How is the league allowing these trades? The Sabres are blatantly tanking.

Is there really any rule against it? Technically its back up for back up, but one is way worse than the other.

It is pretty brilliant... you can't disallow it. It's how they want to stockpile. I find it fascinating. Tim Murray will not allow guys with expiring contracts to walk. Chris Stewart will also be gone for a pick. If someone will give him a pick for Lindback or Neuirveth at the deadline they'll be gone again too!

Lindback is bad but thats not quite full on tanking. Now if they traded Enroth for Johnson that would be blatantly tanking and the league would have to step in.
