if they didnt have to play defense... they are really good. unfortunately.. they do. get rid of your "leaders" and you might get better. Kessel, Phaneuf, Bozak, etc need to go. I would build aroung players like Reilly, JVR.

Drafting is terrible, free agent signings have been up and down, mostly down, trades have brought us players other teams wanted to get rid of for obvious reasons...

Leafs need to trade some core to help with the better draft choice but also have to create a bidding war to get more value out of the guys they want to trade. tough position right now.

They should just say we are going to sit some of our "better" players to bring up kids from the marlies to see what they can do as we have no chance of making the playoffs.

i dont understand how this is even , like, how are people still shocked? the teams chances of making the playoffs were diminishing around new years, there was tension in the locker room, our system wasn't fitting. so we fired the coach. horachek isn't as bad as he could be, he's purposely a fall guy because, although the team can't legally admit it without being fined, their throwing the season to try and obtain a guy who , surprise, actually wants to start his career with the leafs. and he's a superstar, so why the hell not. this isn't a team that could go deep. they have a good base and their talented. but horachek is doing the things he's doing on purpose, like reducing the ice time of kessel, putting players together who clearly have no chemistry and shouldn't be together in the first place. Their purposely not icing the best team they can on purpose to increase any potential chance to get mcdavid. seriously is it that hard to understand?

Who on the Marlies besides Nylander would you actually like to see get called up..i'm sorry but no one on that team excites me one bit, bunch of 3rd and 4th line players playing 1st line minutes

Actually, for the most part, drafting has been good the last 5 years. But everything else. Yeah I agree.

I see Percy, Gauthier, Leivo and Granberg as legit NHL players to some level.

Too early to tell with Nylander, Nilsson, Johnson, Brown, Finn and Bibeau.
