I think there are players that will come at a lesser cost than Kessel to the Sabres. - thatsapickle
I think so too, but they wouldn't be as talented |

I guess it depends what they want...
But if it's something like Grigorenko, NYi 1st & a 2nd I'd have a hard time not making that deal... And I'm not a fan of Kessel
There's other guys out there is target
They might not be as dynamic, but I'd rather have a 25-30 goal guy that can play in all zones then a 40+ scorer that doesn't do much else
Very interesting to consider though - jdfitz77
That's where I differ. I want ONE guy like that on "my" team. I don't want a team full of 2-way players who suffer offensively for it. Give me 1 stud offensive guy who teams have to fear will score on them at any moment. The Sabres haven't had that since.... |

I don't want a player that plays 4th line minutes because he's lazy. |

Again. Not comparing the players but the hype that Tavares had when he was drafted. He was labeled the "Next One". Of course he's not close to the player Gretzky is. The point was saying Tavares wasn't a defnitive number 1 selection that I did not agree with because he most definitely was. - Cptmjl
Which I did say I agreed with.
I remember when Daigle was the "Next one" too. I don't talk of prospects like that as they more than likely will never come close to it. |

Okay this may be crazy but with the KHL basically disintegrating why don't we offer Kovalchuck a 3 year deal at like 11 million a year. Won't cost us any assets and we are literally paying nobody. Then his contract comes off the books when it's time to pay our own guys coming off rookie deals |

Larsson's not signing here for 4th line minutes. Deslauriers is not going anywhere. Kessel coming here is a greasy pipe dream. - TheSabresTaco
Deslauriers is player X, I knew I was forgetting someone. Larsson wouldn't have much say in the matter. And realistically, until yesterday, sabres trading for kane was a pipe dream. |

Myers could be a Norris candidate and Kane could score 40
Bogosian is going to be a solid 3/4 guy and if Armia Lemieux and 1st don't pan out the Sabres win this trade
Right now I think its a good trade for both teams. - Stripes77
Which I did say.

I'm a huge Vanek fan, and I think he has that ability, but he would need better linemates than he had to ALWAYS be that kind of guy (like what the Sabres are building up to now - imagine Kane-Reinhart/McEichel-Vanek???).
But no, I would not say anyone on this team has struck "fear" into opposition in that sense since #89 |

Winger wise it's 89.
Scorer wise it's Lafontaine. |

It wasn't funny the first time.
The second and third it just became annoyingly redundant. |
