Murray has had a year and a half and has spent most of his time rebuilding what Darcy destroyed, the rest of his time trying to figure out what to do with a coach that has no business being in the league anymore.

Myers was back on the ice at the end of the game...not sure if he was testing it or what but it looked painful that's for sure.

Well if I'm not mistaken he did give Nolan an extension so that was his doing. We won't know how well he's done with the team for a few years so I can't understand why some are up in arms.

He made a hockey trade that got us a good player. If it doesn't work out it's not like we gave up the farm. We gave 2 decent prospects that might score 30 a year, a 2nd pairing defenseman, and a pick. We got back a potential 1st line player.

I'd peg the chances Armia/Lemieux/1st Rounder becomes a 1st line 30 goal scorer as 35%. Maybe 40%. I'd peg Kane as 70-75%. And with the trade, all trades are subject to team doctors performing physicals on the player. Trades don't go down without due diligence of the players medical standing, especially after undergoing surgery. Murray talked to the doctor to make sure everything went well before pulling the trigger. It'll be okay.

Just heard, Myers is OK.

Thats good. Wasn't a great first night after for the Jets. Demoralizing loss in a game they had opportunities to be in. Myers and Stafford both looked ok. They both weren't great with their passing and I think Stafford could have scored a couple of times but still has that Sabres sense of urgency(none).

If he keeps getting chances he'll bury some of them. Whether or not this works out well for him or not we'll see. It's a contract year and these 25 or so games are basically a tryout for the rest of the league to see if he can still get it done.

My guess is the only reason Nolan is still here is because TM and TPeg didn't want to deal with the typical Buffalo fans outrage about bringing him here for 3 months and send him packing. You know the same people who were outraged at the Tim Kennedy waiving.

It seems pretty clear to me that Lafontaine (who was a player that I adored mind you) lost his freaking mind somewhere between concussion 5 and 8. It's sad that it happened but bringing Ted Nolan? Buffalo19 called it back when it happened it was purely a PR move.

Nobody expected this team to be this bad this year and to make matters worse the younger players aren't improving. Nolan is a disaster of a hire and I will admit I drank some of the Kool-Aid when he was hired but boy was I wrong.

I never knew Nolan to be the guy to teach kids how to play the game. Honestly, that's what I think Rolston was here for. But they went from one end of the spectrum to the other.

For me, it's an obvious call to get rid of Nolan for the reason that multiple players are having career worst years under his system. True, the talent level on this team isn't good, but not one player is breaking out and excelling under him. From everything I know he isn't the guy to teach a young player like McDavid/Eichel/Reinhart how to play through 82 games a year in the NHL.

That being said, I'm biased and never liked Nolan even in his first tenure here but most coaches don't survive 14 game losing streaks and I don't see Nolan being different. End the season, find a coach, move on.

People I've talked to in the know say same old Ted: absolutely no system, assistants run everything, no video work ever done by Nolan. He drops a few (mistake-ridden) cliches and heads for the bottle after the game.

Murray knew he would be a trainwreck.

Brilliant hire.

Good for the tank. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us with some of the younger players.

Brilliant... You almost wonder if Pegs and TM decided to keep Nolan when TM was hired... To complete the tank under the guise of bringing backa revered and loved coach. No one would be the wuser, and we would fly under the tank radar.

And that delay in Nolan signing his contract last year.... Almost like he knew he was being setup as the fall guy and want d to be paid for it. Last kick at the can.

One person is attacking Murray, there seems to be one on every site that adores Darcy and hates Murray for whatever reason. Sort of like there is always someone who worships the devil.

Lyle Richardson is speculating that Washington could go after RW, and mentions Tlusty from Carolina as a good fit.
The Caps bargaining chip... Burmistrov
Says they're also interested in Stewart

If we can get Burmistrov for Stewart I'd REALLY like that
Even if we have to add a 2nd or something like that

Hence, why I have said the man has done nothing as GM yet except trade 2 intriguing prospects a 2nd pairing dman, a 10/11 year vet with the club in Staff AND a 1st round pick for a dman comparable to Myers and a troubled immature injured took the opposing GM's word he will be fine hockey player.
Traded the best goalie this organization has to play at the NHL level.

Sounds terrific, can't wait for more from this stooge.

He's to eager to apply "his stamp".

I've seen this guy many times in my long life.

He has epic failure written all over himself.

Kane has an injury history and is out the rest of the season to have surgery. I don't know where the he took the word of the other gm from. Might be try might not. But I am pretty sure he touched base with a doctor or three as well

How did he play? Did they try to give him a more offensive role?

Hiring Ted Nolan was nothing more than a PR move, and keeping him was nothing more than the continuation of a PR move. The blue collar fanbase adores the guy. He is indirectly a part of selling the tank.

At this juncture I'm more than willing to agree with that.
