All of that for Kessel?

No way.

Not sure what it would take but I would start with Stewart and Gringo +.

I think those were 2 different pretend offers, not all together.

Or its 1 fan trying to tell the rest of us we are wrong, when we all have the same accurate description.....

I will feel genuinely sorry for all the Nolan Supporters when he moves on.

They got over it the first time...you know when Lindy Ruff took the same group even further only a year later?

One year older.

Thank you, that's what I meant (I think I meant to say Kane was 1 year younger and got them messed up).

The gist is they're 1 year different in age.

I wouldn't mind Kessel the player. However, Kessel's contract plus whatever assets it would require to land him makes me want to pass. Now, should Toronto buy him out, then get your ass to the front of the line, Mr. Murray!

I honestly have no clue.

It depends on who else is bidding, who can afford it, what Toronto thinks its needs are.

What do you think of Jacques Demers as a head coach?

Anything? Everything?

I'd start at Grigorenko, STL 1st, our 1st next year (conditional based on playoff success as Murray likes to throw those in, minimum of a 2nd)+ one of Fasching/Bailey/Baptiste. Add as needed.

Then if they add Clarkson, they have to take Hodgson.

Get Hanzel from Arizona? Currently out for the season. Would Darcy want a shinny second round pick? lol
- Lilroot9

I'd like him, but it's been said that he's a long term piece there. Could be pricey for what he provides.

No thanks. Not with a guy like McDavid or Eichel coming here.

He coached in the 80's?

Relevant how?

Interesting you both post that. Today, I'd have to really think about it. Kane is a better player than Kessel, I hope we can all agree to that. That monster of a cap hit could be a detriment down the road. As far as the player themselves.. I'd take Kane over Kessel 10 billion percent of the time.

Also from earlier this season: heard Buffalo asked Boston about Malcolm Subban. (I’d assume the topic was Chris Stewart.) Were told no.

A lot of Evander Kane info in this Elliot Friedman 30 Thoughts as well.

Yes I figured as much.

I think both were too much.

I am guessing if the sabres had kept one of these 3

lemieux
first rd pick
armia

he would have been ok with the trade

just a guess

- homiedclown

Armia and the 1st IMO is the too much part

IMO they should have kept Armia or Myers. Both could be better players (could be not probably) than what we got back

How good of a coach do you think he was and don't use google either.
Just answer the question, please.

I get where SB is coming from.

He is simply replying to a post directed towards him Irish.

To be honest I "believe" Murray overpaid as well for the record.

But we won't know that for sure until at the earliest , around next year at this very time. IMO.

- BuffaloHardHat

Agree. I think it was an overpayment

This trade and the Fasching trade confirms to me that Murray has a "list" of guys that he really wants on his team, and he's willing to pay just about any price to get one of them, and isn't too worried about whether it's too much. Obviously, there's a reasonable "cap" to that line of thinking (i.e. he's not going to trade an entire year's worth of draft picks for a player), but he definitely seems more focused on what he's getting more than what he's giving up. Darcy Regier seemed to be the opposite.

What is yet to be determined is ultimately whether that leads to success or failure.
