You worry about that when it comes to it. - DynamicThreads
Who knows where the cap will be in 4-5 years also. Could be 75 million for all we know. |

Pysyk is a MUCH better prospect than McCabe. - Slump Buster
agreed
if risto and biz develop there will be enough scoring on the d with bogo
plus it still leaves austin, florentino and martin in the pipeline'

I'm glad. He would look great alongside Kane and McEichel IMO - CaptainRivet
I'm on board and telling the conductor full steam ahead with that idea. |

I'm thinking we target a few defensemen in the draft/TDL this year. Once Pysyk and McCabe come up, we're pretty thin on high potential D. |

IMO the better prospect is McCabe but hey, they are opinions. - BuffaloHardHat
Hard to compare them in a way.
But I'm a huge Pysyk fan. He plays a quiet but very effective game. McCabe is a bit more physical, but that can cause problems on it's own.
Pysyk has one of the best outlet passes I've seen, is an effortless skater, and lets the play come to him instead of chasing the puck everywhere. IMO, he'll be able to play Suter like minutes if they need him to because of that. |

Like I said, though, it's not just the contract. It's the contract, plus a hefty price you're going to give up as well that makes it potentially cringe-worthy. - buffalofan19
Pysyk hasn't cracked the roster yet and he's what, like 23 almost? If you trade the other 1st round pick, him and another prospect and TO takes it you do it all day long.
But this is a draft day trade. Gotta make sure we have the 1st or 2nd pick. Or if we pick 3rd, you take what's-his-face Defenseman (Hanafin?) and then make the trade.

From everything I've read (and little I've seen) McCabe projects to be a #5 while Pysyk is a 3-4.

He wasn't here by design this season or last season. Not sure if you are holding that against him. |

I'm thinking Murray will get draft day currency this TDL. To make deals for teams that will be struggling with the cap where ever it may fall. |

He got screwed by a training camp injury and Zadorov throwing a temper tantrum. He absolutely would help this team right now. |

Nice description as always.
But eh, it's just my preference , I would rather hold on McCabe. |

I would do this:
McCabe
Bailey
Stl/NYI 1st.
2nd this year,
Buffalo 2nd next year (that becomes a first if Buffalo makes playoffs).

From what most people have been saying though, he hasn't exactly looked good in Rochester this year. I know AHL is a more physical league, but if you look like crap in the AHL, you don't all of a sudden look good in the NHL.

Pysyk is the type of guy that can play the whole game and then leave you asking if he was out there at all. For a defensive minded defenseman, that's the goal. That means he didn't make any huge glaring mistakes.
Quiet, reliable, and consistent. |

Rochester played over half a year to then find out that one of the goalies has been dealing with post concussion symptoms still. That's not going to help anyone. Plus they've been missing their captain for quite some time. You can't expect one guy to do it all.
Putting Pysyk here isn't going to take this team from cellar dweller to playoff contender, so to expect him to do that in Rochester is a bit crazy too. |

Has nothing to do with Pysyk? I've had PCS, so I know how messed up it is (and how long it lasts) but that's kind of making an excuse for his poor play. He doesn't have to lift the team to a playoff contender. But I haven't heard anything good about him this year, or now that I think of it, ever. Just people being high on him and liking him as a prospect.
