He at least appears worth the money
- Guile

I bet you Montreal fans disagree. He's more than likely their Sutter, although i don't visit their blog here so I can't say with certainty.

I asked the question of them both straight up. Eller is in fact their Sutter over there. Still with the term he has left it's risky.

Only problem with that is the Habs are looking to move him because De La Rose is ready to step up and take over for Eller. They wouldn't want Sutter coming back.
- cap1681

They want De La Rose to replace him full time already? I know Eller has been disappointing to them, but they just brought De La Rose up. Not saying it is bad decision, but it is definitely a bold one.

Eh, I was basing that off of possession and such, which he does at a 2nd line level. Point wise, hes a bit below Sutter

But does that make him better or worse than Sutter?

If Columbus is serious about trading Atkinson that's a guy the old man should be kicking the tires on. Doesn't sound like they're asking for a lot. Money would have to be sent the other way though.

It would probably be a wash, at least in my eyes.

Seriously, they are near identical players. The remaining term for Eller kills it for me.

If they got in a street fight it would last for an hour and they would both have a lot of scratches.

He is no better than Sutter. People bring up inconsequential names thinking they are answers. Jagr, Eller, Boyes ... pick your name that serves no purpose long term or short.

JVR, I'd love to have, but we simply don't have the assets.

Would love to see the Pens figure out a way to pry Anisimov away from the Jackets. Always thought he would be great for the Pens in the 3rd line center role.

There was a time when if he played the Pens 82 times per year, I thought he would run away with the scoring title. Dude always seemed to put up points against us.

GP G A P +/- PIM TOI SH
53 11 9 20 -3 8 18:07 107 Sutter
49 9 7 16 -6 34 15:06 86 Eller

It's almost as if Sutter's dad had an affair on a business trip to Sweden 23 or so years ago.

I would probably trade them straight up in the hopes that a change of scenery would benefit him but I wouldn't add anything else.

- canadianpenfan

I agree old man Sutter may have spread his seed in Denmark. Not much difference between the 2 except Eller is signed longer... $3.5 cap hit real money is $4+ and the final year is $4.65

How is he not better than Sutter? He's a much better possession player than Sutter with about the same offensive production. I understand the apprehension with his contract, but his play is an unquestionable upgrade.

Just curious, how can a top 6 that still produces that plays the same style of game as Geno (east west) and is one of greatest PP players in the history of the game; serve no purpose??

Hey I just went over this one...

It was something like

Sutter+Bennett+Harrington+ 2016 2nd for JvR+depth player
or
Sutter+Bennett+Kapanen for JvR+depth player

Edit: i thought you asked how do we get JvR. My bad...misread that.
