Just saying that's the most i would give him, if someone wants to give him more he can be their mistake.
I'm a huge fan of Comeau this year, but the sample size of poor hockey is far greater than good. - canadianpenfan
yeah i understand.
i think id be willing to go to 2.5, but after that, its probably too hard to make fit. |

Putting Jagr with Sutter? JJ will really experience "dying alive"... - madmike71
You may have a point. Although Jagr has some what revived Gomez after Lou picked him off the scrap heap. Maybe Jagr can give Sutter a crash course on phisics and teach him about leverage. I'll use Sean Couturier as an example. Couturier and Sutter both have "stick man" body types but Couturier knows how to use his to win puck battles. At times Suttet looks like a 17 year old still growing into his body

Sutter has some offensive and defensive tools. If a guy like Jagr could come in and teach that squid how to use his body, it'd be worth the acquisition.
Until that time: F Sutter and his future kids. |

Point to Sill’s one goal and one assist as a negative on the season if you want to, but how can one deny his impact on the fourth-line?

I just had to explain why I was planning a way to chop off "Adam's" fingers out loud, laughing hard, and debating how stupid a person can be while at work because I actually read the entire article. - Guile
I had to read the article.. Just had to see in what way he was trying to twist that narrative... |

Pretty sure the only thing that was twisted, was his nuts by Zach Sill to force him to write such an article.
Zach Sill 100% between that guy's legs, giving his sack an indian sunburn. |

I couldn't read it. A perfect 4th line (to me) maintains possession, crash and bangs the opposition and occasionally chips in a big goal. Ours does none of that.
I'm literally holding my breath while they're on the ice waiting for them to be taken to the woodshed by real NHL players. |

Sutter is a blackhole; he sucks anything useful out of anyone around him. Jagr's still a great possession forward, and I GUARANTEE if put on Sutter's line his possession numbers collapse. Maybe that is what it will take for management to realize how bad Sutter is. |

The clown of a writer was an intern for the WBS Pens not too long ago. Im sure this is a case of pure fanboy/glute kissing and nothing more. - Reverend Killtaker
And there we have it... Something like "Zack Sill was cool to me when I was an intern, so I really like him."

Say what you want about our 4th line but they are consistent. Every game you know they will be stuck in their own zone for long periods, they'll be on the ice late in a tie game, lots of turn overs at the red line and a wasted Time Out after an icing

He must be the guy I saw at the Flames game with the jersey. What are the chances he has 2 fans? |

To Sills defense, he was a solid A- AHL player, especially for WBS. He had a lot of heart and soul, along with grit. He was a good fighter when needed and won a good % of tilts. He was a banger and was a leader on and off the ice. Then the knee injury came and he wasn't the same play wise. His speed dwindled, his physicality dwindled, and he was a shell of what he once was in WBS.
Its sad that his game didn't transcend to the NHL the way he was here in WBS, but the reality has been proven time and again. He's a good fill in player when needed for and injury call up but that is his peak and nothing more. He belongs in the AHL as a vet leader who can help the prospects learn the pro game or in europe. I respect his heart but he has no business playing where he is. |

anyone else see Old Man Ruth looking pissed in the pressbox last night after we blew that lead? besides the fact it was pretty late for him to be awake, I really wonder what his mindset is approaching the TDL. I think Sutter is the big wildcard, is he going to try to bring in a cheap 3rd line rental? or look for a real shakeup in the bottom 6 - YouMeAndDupuis9
It was more of look like he sharted and wrecked another pair of pants....an old guy I use to work with would get that look after a hard weekend of drinking

"I agree with you on Sutter, but asking him to be stable when never giving him consistent wingers is an issue."
I feel like making a farfetched trade idea.

That's the thing... he's not an NHL hockey player. He is a solid AHL'er and is probably good with the young guys.
I started to like him after a rookie camp exit interview the Pens had on their website
( http://video.penguins.nhl...onsole?catid=-6&id=120906)
You gotta root for the underdog guys like him and Farnham and those types. Even with all of the great defense prospects the Pens have, I find myself checking up on Reid McNeil a bit after hearing him talk about refocusing a couple summers ago, and doing the Gary Roberts training, etc. You want guys like that to succeed.
I worked for and around the Pens at different times over the years, and have dealt with some players who were absolutely great people. You find yourself rooting for them, but man, you gotta be able to objectively see how they play, and not write drivel like this clown did lol.
There is no shame in being an AHL lifer, or playing in Europe for years. Most of us would kill to be able to get paid to play hockey until we were in our 30's. AHL guys probably still make more than most of us on this board. |

I don't want to speak for Toronto as they have done some stupid stuff over the years, but no way I'm making that trade if I'm them.
JVR is a really solid player with a great contract, and the Pens side of the deal is a struggling 3rd line center, an ok young player with some big question marks in Bennett, and decent prospect, and a late 2nd round pick.
