Tim Chiasson: A Scott Hannan Rumor?; Sharks vs Coyotes
Scott Hannan is in a rumor. No jokes. - Tim Chiasson
Like I have been saying for awhile Hannan has more trade value then most Shark Fans believe. Veteran defenseman are in high demand. Just remember DW once traded a second round pick for that pylon Nicholas Wallin. |

And Shero sent not one 2nd rounder, but two for Murray |

Despite what many Sharks fans are claiming Hannan has played well this year. Most don't like him especially Tim because of his AGE. It has nothing to do with ability and all to do with his age. If Hannan was 27 (See Matt Irwin) Tim would be calling him part of the future. Bottom line is Hannan is better then Murray by a lot.
But just remember Tim is the same guy who claimed that a possible Hall of Fame Defenseman Brad Staurt was carried by Justin Braun last year. I could not laugh harder when he stated this. |

Yeah but remember we also took Tyler Kennedy off your hands and gave you are second. So in essence you got rid of a terrible player for a 2nd and we gave you a terrible player. In the end it was Murray and a 2nd for Kennedy and 2-2nds

I've missed you Sharksfan48.
I'll clear up your speculation on my thoughts though.
- I don't like Hannan because he is bad at hockey, age has nothing to do with it. I like Jagr and he should be in a wheelchair.
- Matt Irwin isn't part of the future. |

That was the worst trade Shero made and pretty much the only one he lost on. I get what you mean about the age part, everyone hates Scuderi but he has played great and IMO he's earning his 3 million (another reason he's hated). Currently, we have the defensive depth to carry us. We have 3 blue chip defenseman in Pouliot, Dumoulin and Harrinton that can play NHL in that order. Pouliot is becoming a regular here now with Ehrhoff's injury. All three have at least 8 games this year and Dumoulin and Pouliot are both ready now. Pouliot KILLED it in the AHL this year and has played great up with the Pens. Dumoulin can also play bottom pairing right now, and Harrington will be ready next year as he's looked a little shaky.
Letang-Martin
Ehrhoff-Despres
Scuderi-Pouliot/Bortuzzo/Dumoulin
We have a second rounder as our only pick in the top 90 this year and to send it out for a Dman that we don't need would be a bad bad move, no offense. |

Kennedy was a big piece of our third line with Staal and Talbot. That was the best 3rd line in hockey at the time and a huge piece of our Cup runs. I guess he fell off though.. |

This is laughable man, you just like to go against the grain man & troll for some hits with your DERP talk................Goldobin will be playing in the KHL he's a bust, & now you say Hannan's played good this year. Get the (frank) out of here with this nonsense you spew. |

I'd like to see the Sharks try & get Methot. He's 29, so he's got some years left in the tank & could provide some leadership/stability to our defensive group.
Vlasic/Braun
Burns/Methot
Dillon/Mueller
Do you guys think Methot would be a worthwhile target if he's available? |

No Methot is a Defensive Defensman, we've got that role covered right now. We need a puck mover & Methot isn't that. |

No this is not actually true. I have watched Hannan play, he is better then Wallin, sorry but he is an easy mark for people to be critical of. Early last year it was Murray, then Stuart now Hannan, all over 30, none that bad. Hannan isn't as bad as Irwin, and plays good positional hockey. I never was a huge fan of his, but people think he is the sole reason the teams defense is bad, and that is nowhere near the truth.
As for Kennedy, the guy was okay in Pittsburgh, he's not a fit in McLellan's style of mix and match play sorry if it offends you but it s the truth. As for Goldobin, like I stated every hockey publication I saw says he was drafted too high. I don't know never seen him play, but Juniors and play in the AHL and similar leagues don't equal to success in the NHL. There have been many junior stars like Alexander Daige (just to name one, and Im not saying Goldobin will end up like this) that have failed in the NHL.
And lets remember two seasons ago the talk was all about Tomas Hertl the next super star in waiting. Maybe, and I am hoping so, but at this point I don't see it. |

Here's a question is the age of the player an issue?
