at some point i think you move some young assets for a player in his prime. I'm not certain that timing, the player and the contract makes sense, but an interesting concept anyways.

I think the leafs need to move kessel by Mar 2nd. there will likely be some good salary cap casualties on the market during the summer. Doesn't seem to be ideal timing to trade a big contract.

I do think eventually it will happen. If we lock up Boychuk and Leddy long term there will be dwindling chances for our defensive prospects not named Reinhart or Pulock to make the roster. Snow already proved that by including our 3rd best defensive prospect, Ville Pokka, in the Leddy trade.

At the moment, all of our young top-picks are with the big club and we're pretty barren in terms of offensive talent in our prospect pool. Outside of Dal Colle (who I have a feeling is going to be really good) and Ho-Sang (who is a boom-or-bust type prospect) we don't have very much top 6 talent.

I could eventually see a defensive prospect like Mayfield or Pelech getting moved, but I don't think it will be this year and I definitely don't think the timing is right for Kessel.

Well, I am not an idiot so it was not a fact. It was bullying. Calling people an idiot is bullying and it should not be tolerated. Finding out Kessel is not worth a lot it no reason to bully someone.
