I don't see anyone debating it besides you. Every one wants their team to get full accolades when they win a game. It was kind of like you guys saying the Rangers don't take the Islanders seriously that's the only reason why we win. Can't give credit where it's due. Like last time when 90% of your thread was saying it's a stupid regular season game and they mean nothing, yada, yada, yada, etc. That game was lost by us bcs of terrible defense and goaltending which I've said multiple times on here and the other thread. Your team had terrible defense and goaltending in the first and second and ours imploded in the third. Happy now? What else do you require a written afadavit to make it legal? - Cptmjl
Do you really need me to highlight and paste every single time that "trip" has been mentioned in a comment, or in every single article and blog written lol...I really don't think I'm the only one talking about it...
And wow, from the looks of the rant you just went on you're the one that seems like you can't take a loss or get over it lol...I've seen nothing but praise from Ranger Fans this year about how good the Isles are. I've even seen many Ranger Fans saying that the Isles so far are the better team. We are all talking about the game just like we have after every single one of the 55 we have played this year. Nothings different, except after this loss this time, you just want everyone to be quiet and stop talking lol...take a look in the mirror, you're the one acting differently not us... |

You saw them all with sticks bcs Hamonic went off stickless near the bench after he got slashed and his stick exploded directly in front of the ref and then Stemp took the puck. that's how the play started. - Cptmjl
Oh I got you...because that happened, the puck was played into the corner. And that forced the Islander player to lose the battle to Dom Moore in the corner, which subsequently allowed Girardi to pinch down low and take the puck. Oh yeah, and cuz Hamonic AND Stempniak were both out of the picture by the bench, Girardi was able circle behind the net. And because Hamonic lost his stick, that somehow made Martin go diving on the ice and miss the puck passing out to McDonagh who was somehow all alone and not covered as well as Strait missing the block shot attempt. That magic stick that Hamonic has...wow, if only it hadn't broken, non of the Rangers would have been able to play hockey....
You made it sound much more convincing when you said Stempniak shatter Hamonic's stick, took the puck and passed it to McDonagh who then scored...too bad that it completely didn't happen that way...there were like 5-6 more hockey plays the Isles were beat on after that before the goal was scored |

Because that's what they do. My phone was blowing up with texts after the game yesterday. The Rangers winning goal was the first time they had the lead in this series since the 2nd period of game 1. And now they're winning the cup...... - Halakitalot
No Rangers fan, that I know, is planning the parade after last night. Still plenty of hockey to go and Lundqvist has to return and not skip a beat when he does.
Even if all goes right, with the Lundqvist situation, the Rangers still aren't a lock to win anything. But I will say this, last night was as character a regular season win as they had in recent memory. Coming back from two goals down, three times, against a team that has had their number to that point is pretty impressive. |

I'm replying to your post bcs you keep yapping and like you I usually write long winded posts so don't misconstrue my post as a rant bcs it's long. I have nothing to get over it was a loss last night. That's it. As far as the penalties that were never called goes you telling me they didn't happen is not going to change my mind from what I saw with my own eyes. Who cares? I'm over it was around 10 PM yesterday it's time for you to move on too |

I just came here because I was confused by the blog title. How can anyone look back on that game and be angry?
That game was an up and down rollercoaster thrill ride with mistakes by both teams and the officials. Certainly not the 'best' hockey I've seen, but some of the most entertaining hockey I have seen in ages.

Lol okay whatever you say. You all bring it up and its okay, we respond and its called not moving on... I didn't open the day with a write up on the trip, I was responding...I didn't mention the shattered stick, I was responding. If you really wanna move on, then don't mention things in the first place...

Agreed. In a 6-5 game, you can't blame any single event or any single missed call. It was a wildly entertaining game. Probably the most entertaining game so far this season. Thats a great compliment to both teams! Like everyone else, praying for a playoff series!! |

Yeah, for whatever reason we don't match up well to that team when they get physical. Eric Fehr especially destroys us for whatever reason. I don't think our record is that bad against them but i think they'll give us fits in the PO's. |

I don't think anyone said the refs cost us the game? Officiating certainly didn't help but poor defense and goaltending is what cost us the game. I thought these games mean nothing? Just stupid regular season games no? I guess that changes once the Rangers win one? - Cptmjl
If they win they can thank the refs. Not one to ever blame the refs but two goals were direct results of non calls that were blatant. - Cptmjl
I agree they lost that game but the refs spotted the rags two goals. Im not going to make pretend that didnt happen so I can be chivalrous - Cptmjl

I agree they are a darkhorse for sure. Ovechkin is dominant, yet again, Backstrom is having a great year and their defense is definitely above average. Holtby is starting practically every game so that is something to keep an eye on, down the stretch.
Islanders can still finish first and wind up playing the team with the best wild card record and right now that is Washington. |

They unfortunately didnt show the hook immediately before the "trip". Come on you had two gimme goals like we had one. You won. Get over yourself. Incredible how every ranger fan was telling us how these regular season games mean nothing blah blah blah blah and here you all are. - Cptmjl
I literally have seen posts saying "we are and always will be the best hockey team from NY, 3 losses means nothing." If 3 losses mean nothing then 1 win means nothing.
Also just can't stand the double standard with this rivalry. The past 3 games when the Rangers have been dominated they just down play it so hard and bring up history (which is actually stupid because the Rangers really do have an awful history, maybe the worst in all of sports with 4 cups in like 90 years.) Now they pull out a win where they played just as well at times/just as bad at times as the islanders and are now talking so much smack acting like this game is the only one that mattered. Game was an all out shootout, just be happy you won and didn't fall to 0-4 in the season series. |

Who's downplaying the previous three games here?
The Islanders are a very good hockey team; last night's results didn't change that fact. The Rangers are a good team too though and the fact both are very good, in the same season, make things very interesting around here.
No need to throw the same old lack of cups rhetoric around to prove your point. |

There's a lot of it coming from both sides. A lot of guys from your thread constantly drone on about the Islander fans on twitter and facebook. Go on there right now and I'd swear you guys just won the cup. In other words there's idiots on both sides of the fence . Here for the most part it's a different story but he has a point. 3/4's of your thread were saying how the last three games were meaningless games when we won them. Regular season games mean nothing, etc. You were not one of those Ranger fans doing that but lets not make pretend it wasn't happening bcs it most certainly was. |

It looks like Boychuk caught a rut in the ice rather than Kreider tripping him. Hamonic, on the other hand, wondering why he got called for tripping Zuccarello, when his stick was caught in Zuccarello's blade, was actually really funny. - MidnightMarauder
The same thing happened v. Edm the other night where there was a stick in Frans skate blade and the player actually dragged Frans from blueline to blueline trying to get the stick out and there was no call. Practically used Frans as a mop thru the neutral zone. He's on his back getting dragged by the skateblade. So you'll excuse Hamonic for wondering when the same play got no call 2 nights earlier.
Additionally, Girardi boarded Tavares with a hit from behind about 20 sec before the Strome goal. It was a dangerous hit. It gets called all the time yet it, along with the Kreider trip, doesn't get called. And it was a trip. I am constantly amazed how Rangers fans make excuses for this dirty, goalie running chump. Give him two seasons before the entire league sees him as your new Avery, only with skill.
Finally, it is funny to see Rags fans rejoicing considering how they insisted the first three games "meant nothing". It was a crazy game. Could have gone either way, unfortunately it went the wrong way. Need to get ready for Carolina today. Moving on. |

Yep. True but it happens both ways. Most on our thread thought it was a "have to call" penalty which i disagreed with. I've seen it not called many times before. |

Almost every Rangers fan on twitter, here and other sites were downplaying the previous three games. "Reg season means nothing. We are looking to get back to finals- playoff hockey matters" was my fav post. You mgiht not have been doing it, but a ton of Blueshirt idiots were. As was said earlier, both sides have idiots, but one side was downplaying the previous 3 games as meaningless. |
