I think if a team offered something substantial you could still see Ennis moved.

It'd have to be quite an overpayment obviously.

- Pairo11

it would have to be an overpayment because he needs to be in our top 6 next year..

girgensons should stay at center.. i feel like i've said this 100 times in the last few days
- sabres2016

you could switch girgs and reinhart till reinhart gets a little more NHL time under his belt

I like a top two lines of

Moulson/eichel/ennis
Kane/Reinhart/girgensons

Ennis is fully capable of playing a scoring role on 1st line. He has talent and his speed will be useful to eichel. Girgs and Kane on the second line with Reinhart is our true shutdown line. They will play all the tough minutes against the crosbys and stamkos. I don't like girgs on the third line. Won't get enough minutes. If he's on the third line it means eichel or Reinhart aren't in the ice. I think the second line could become one of the best shutdown lines in the league. Frees up our 3rd line to be a scoring one centered by grigorenko

- Fattony1187

You need to be able to roll 3 lines, look at the top teams around the league. The teams that stick out for me on this point are the Bruins from a few years ago, and the pens before they moved Staal.

Girgensons has shown he can play with an opposing teams top line, so if he's out there against a top line they can have eichel/reinhart out against opposing 2nd/3rd

I don't think we should move either of them out of the middle. Girgens = Jordan Staal when he was with the pens.

With that said, we need to add 2 top 6 RWs (or have ennis or moulson play the off wing) and our top 3 lines would be pretty nice...

Kane - McEichel - Top RW
Ennis - Reinhart - Moulson
Foligno - Girgensons - Gionta

- sabres2016

team speed will be an issue, esp on that third line

Brendan Lemieux is good friends with Winnipeg center Mark Scheifele.

"I played with Mark in my rookie year and he's one of my best friends," said Lemieux. "He called me a couple of hours after the trade. He's really a mentor for me. I've said it before: I think Mark's a better person than he is a player and obviously he's a great player. I'm so happy to be joining a franchise that he's a part of." Having Scheifele in the fold will probably help ease his transition to the team. For now, Lemieux is playing with the Barrie Colts of the OHL.

Not if TM actually has a 2-3 year plan. He could create ways to replace him.

I hope and think they'll keep him.

this team is so slow and without him they might as well be playing on a slanted surface

Agree.

Assuming Reinhart makes the jump and Mc Eichel sticks around (which is a pretty easy assumption) with the addition of Kane our team speed looks a LOT better next season.

Grigorenko will be our third line. we will still be able to roll 3. You don't want girgensons with foligno and our third best RW playing against top lines

agreed, gionta doesn't really have it anymore. Reinhart isn't all that fast of a skater either but he makes up for it by never being out of position

SJ may blow things up after this year. No rebuild, but retool. Hear they will try to move Marleau and Thornton. Marleau wouldn't be a bad choice for rw, if the cost wasn't too high.

Florida may try to trade Campbell. Again, if the cost wasn't too high, may not be a bad choice for the one year he has remaining.

I still would like to try and get Yak from the Oil. Realistically would Buffalo or Edmonton make a trade along the lines of our 2nd, Ennis and Pysyk for Yak and Edm's 2nd 1st rounder?

It's just too bad we wasted a high 2nd round pick on someone who wouldn't sign here.

yak has just started turning it around. Not sure if they'd part with him at this time.

I just don't see a need to get Campbell for a year. I know it gives the inside track on renegotiating, but how much longer does he have?

I don't see any of those players as a good fit for what we are trying to build. I love Marleau but he is way too old. Would rather go UFA with a guy like St. Louis if I am looking for a guy that old.

Why? We took it and turned it into something better. Nobody would think twice if his name was different.

So when Bruce (Belinda) Jenner gets arrested, does he/she go into male or female general population?

At this point it was not wasted as it helped get Kane and Bogosian. We will have to watch all the players taken after him in 3-4 years to see if anyone would have been better to take, but at this point it was not wasted at all. Is it easier to trade a pick instead of a player because there is no attachment to a pick, unless it's early first round.

I only want an aging player next year if he can help the "kids" or we really think we can go deep into the playoffs. Would rather try to score a younger player that had years to grow and help for years. The question would be if that is even going to be available. I would target the teams closer to the cap that need to resign young stars, like the Blues.

I just wrote this at the same time as you, but I think people rather trade picks than players. But if we took someone else, that deal may not have went through.
