Why would this be bad? - adambuffalo
Yakupov is not a player the Sabres should be paying a premium for. What's the difference between Ennis and Yakupov? Ennis is a C/LW in an organization that's thin on talented LW (and RWs for that matter) and Yak has 19 points on the season on a much better offensive team. He has room to improve, and likely will eventually, but paying more than a 2nd round pick at this juncture completely disinterests me. As far as Yak playing on the first line? Woof.
He is interested in bringing back Enroth and will be with Stewart too. That being said though it'll be an interesting time for Neuvy. If he can't be a starter I see Hackett potentially coming up or a trade or FA are options too of course
I think we'll be better next year but playoffs are lofty. Maybe a year or two after we can think more about that with better players in the lineup. All really depends who we target in FA. Eichel is our guy at draft most likely. D is good enough to bring up kids slowly like Pysyk and then later McCabe and Ruhwedel. I don't think Subban is here although that'd be great - Beezer33
I doubt he is interested in bringing Enroth back and why do you feel the need to write like you are Murray's right hand man? You have no inside info so why not use the verb doubt when issuing your opinions? Or use the word surprise as a noun as in it wouldn't surprise me if Enroth came back.
Plus it would probably take ennis + to get him. Is it really worth that? - joshs
Yak has a higher ceiling and has been buried in Edmonton playing a very limited role. If Edmonton gets one of the top 2 picks, that would seem to make Yak more expendable. Would I prefer a Hall or Eberle? Sure, but Yak seems more likely the odd man out. That's why I offered Ennis, Pysyk (both Edmonton guys) and our 2nd for Yak and their 2nd 1st rounder, because I know it would take more than just Ennis.

He's not buried. He's justly behind Eberle on the 2nd line. If they draft 2nd, it makes Derek Roy expendable, not Yakupov. I still fail to see why it matters where a player calls "home" in a trade that doesn't involve NTC's. This trade is worthless to the Sabres and damages our already thin defensive depth.

Oilers are keeping yak. Has less trade value but still has potential to be better than Ederle. Plus he will have a cheaper contract and has been playing better
