too much boring when people make full sentence ruttager? - TheNugeIsHuge
No just too much derp when people that think they know more about hockey than the coaches and management, are derping away. At least you haven't been prematurely orgasming corsi stats though. |

Methot's been in playoff series' with OTT. Petry's been on a 30th, 29th, 24th, 28th, and soon to be 28th/29th place team in EDM. Don't remember where I read, but I think Petry likes Nelson a lot more than he does Eakins. Hope that has some influence - TheNugeIsHuge
Everyone likes Nelson more than Eakins- Oilerwise... the team is actually competing as a whole team- something we never witnessed in a long time... (frank) they even are sticking up for eachother in scrums not walking away like a bunch of pussies as often as before... |

I love the way Yakupov is playing. He is driven, passionate, and wants to score and win. You have to keep that passion on the team. I am really impressed with how he turned things around and really seems to care out there...not much coasting anymore.
Watching the Oilers live recently just confirmed to me even more how badly the team needs to rid themselves of J Schultz. Yes, he is talented but he doesn't care about winning one bit. I wonder if he even cares about the money...lol. Heartless.
Ference also confirmed to me what I have thought all year...decent enough 5 or 6 Dman (generous to say 5 but whatever) but he is very small and he plays small. He actually seems to allow wingers to skate around him, only to apply his patented one-handed-spoon-from-behind wrap around thing he does. Ference was just awful live.
Aside from an unlucky/bad judgement giveaway on Pacioretty's goal, Klefbom was pretty solid out there too.
It was good to see the team live again, it had been way too long. |

Ya its like a switched turned on about 20ish games ago and they just keep getting better... Not only Yak and Klefbom but the whole team including guys like Lander, Marincin, now Hamilton etc... Eberle and Nuge... Even if they are not all scoring their mistakes are not as detrimental to the end result- the team has a chance to win even against big intimidating teams such as Boston last night...

I don't understand this switch flipping you are talking about in regards to Lander. He was a point per game in the AHL and then he got called up and has played good, it's not like he was playing bad and then poof he's good now but he is just getting a chance to prove himself. |

Its the Eakins haters argument.
Even though Lander, klef and others barely played at all under Eakins...
There hasn't been a switch. They still stink. |

I can't believe how much Eakins under utilized Roy as well. Often times loaning him out to Nashville despite the fact that Edmonton clearly needed center help. |

its been great to see yaks play well.
his development could do so much for us.
and while I agree on ferences low talent and size, ive never thought he played to his size. hes always been willing to engage with players far bigger than him.
small talent and stature, but solid character and physically willing.
I think uve got some blinders on against AF bro.

its weird how people develop these irrational feelings towards players. - Ihateallofu
yeah one time jlo was upset about his twitter account and his off ice activities and how being a "hipster" meant he in no way should be the captain and leading the oil derp derp derp. The guy by no means is a 1/2 or allstar but he's not terrible and to get a vet to sign in Edmonton is hard enough to do. |

Sometimes it is annoying to have to spell out every single step and every detail of an argument for you Ruttager. I don't care what anyone does away from their job, and when it's time to do your job, do it to the absolute best of your ability. I do think Ference does that for the most part. I was pointing out that immediately after a big win for the Oilers some time ago, the captain of the team is more interested in posting a photo and thoughts about his personal project. Anyone else who made a comment right after that win directed said comment to their teammates, the fans, etc. etc.
He's a serviceable last paring Dman, no doubt, but the leader of the team should be ALL TEAM ALL THE TIME...almost to a fault. What if all 20guys thought like that? hmmm...maybe the do on this team actually...it starts at the top.
Ference just doesn't have the focus needed to fill the role he has been given. Taylor Hall may be young and mistake-prone...but Taylor Hall would try to skate THROUGH the boards if he could get the puck on the other side. THAT'S focus. |

And that wasnt Eakins choice?? He obviously couldnt get them going- nor did he give them a solid chance... Lander has failed under Eakins during his entire tenure- maybe a chunk of that is on Lander - but whatever it is Lander does not stink now- he is contributing to this team |
