I was never pro-Eakins retard, my stance was always, and very consistantly, that the Oilers suckiness was not Eakins fault, just like how the current sucess has little to do with Nelsons ability as a coach.
This is a bad hockey team, that has always been my point of view and still is. You see 10 wins and think we are on the verge of greatness or something?

The mob is big... and you 2 were the only ones not on that train... gotta give you credit... but to be honest- if the players dont like you- its tough to be a coach... the dynamics of this team are more strongly influenced by the players- you either ship out all what you spent tanking for or you get a coach that they will go to work for... MacT will need to be bold this offseason- I wouldnt want to be him...

I'm not pro tank. But how can you see these wins now when we are being outplayed as positive yet at the beginning of the year we were getting losses despite outplaying the other team? You want to recognize one and not the other. Talk about blind!

I just hope they keep Nelson as the coach for at least two years. We can't have ANOTHER coach for these players. As you stated, it's in the roster not the coaching although part of me is kinda happy to see Eakins go although I've never blamed the losing on him.

Its possible that they very well were due for these wins anyway- but Eakins is gone and we will never know... If the 5v5 is such a concern and not sustainable- What is your solution then? its likely we will see personnel changes very soon anyway... so things are likely to change in the data again anyway... realistically I would rather take the shotty 5v5 and have high player morale and team confidence opposed to worrying about the fancy stats and data cause we are going to see a dip soon enough once we trade some roster players...

What you don't understand is that strong Possesion numbers over a long period of time usually mean you are a good team that wins consistently.

You can have shorter periods of weak Corsi and more wins but that rarely lasts over an entire season....the Leafs and Avs were the exception, and look how that turned out over the course of 2 or 3 seasons.

I would rather the consistant strong Corsi over a long period of time.....like 5 years...and a strong Corsi comes from playing the game the right way on both sides of the puck. Do the Oilers do that well consistently? (frank) no.

Well they cant unless they change their roster which MacT is seemingly trying to avoid the 'trade a young star' conversation - I do think Petry situ will be addressed very shortly and we will know where things will be headed... I also think you could sell Eberle if thats what MacT needs to do and get a decent ransome if he so desires...
