It was a soul-crusher
Won't lie: I kinda sat there for a second, numb and dazed
He wasn't the only one to turn the puck over, so I'm not singling him out. But that one was a straight-up gut punch

I was pissed. (frank)ing Jackets were sitting on that pass all Goddamned night. The Flyers reviewed it in their video session, as Lecavalier and others said.
What really sucks is, that might have been the best overall game they had played in the last 4 or 5, and they came away empty handed. |

they were skating circles around them for several solid minutes prior. timing was horrific.

Yep, it crushed them. They couldn't sustain anything for awhile after that. |

Brutal in the first, but much better in the second and most of the third |

More breakdowns than brutal in the first. They had some chances and got burned on breakdowns rather than the sustained pressure that Montreal was getting, for example |

Fair enough; hate seeing them hemmed up like that.
Don't hold out much hope, but maybe Edmonton does us a solid tonight

Not much more or he can walk on an offer sheet. We'll take the 1st round + compensation |

Didn't his negotiation with Rangers get pretty testy? I dont see him coming back for what he made this season that's for sure. I know he is still RFA but I would expect his yearly salary to have a 3 in front of it. Which is fair since big Schenn is making what 3.5 per |

yeah true. i could be wrong but doesnt it go up from 2nd and then once it gets to around 3.5 or so, it jumps up to a first and a third?
i really cant see someone wanting to give up a first and third for him. he has played pretty well, but thats a decent investment for such a quick turnaround.

On a 1 yr deal don't look for too much more
If they decide to offer a multi yr deal then it will be more certainly |

Yea I doubt anyone would too. I kinda just want him back on another 1 year deal. |

That'd be the max or I'd sit tight and tell him go out and find something better & review it at that time. |

i know.
its tough to say. i sure as hell dont know what hes thinking.
does he do another one year bridge type deal now and really try to showcase himself in the hopes that his next deal is a bigger one, or does he look for 3 years or so right around 3? |

should he leave/be traded, how close do you think that ghost can come to filling his role next year? |

I don't think the Flyers will offer more then a 2 yr deal to him at this point.
He may be stuck accepting a 1 yr deal and trying to showcase for the big UFA deal the following year. |

I don't see Ghost stepping right in next year.
Ideally he has most of next season in the AHL with some call ups as needed.
To count on him as a regular next year would be a mistake I believe. |
