Just remembered the draft is in Florida... If there's a conspiracy to be had regarding the lottery, IMO the Panthers will be at the head of it. Mediocre team, awful attendance, draft in FLA with a god of a player going first overall that can change all of that.

I can only think of two teams id be okay with winning the lottery, CBJ and OTT.

I like columbus' team and i think mcdavid-johansen is very crosby malkin esque. And if McDavid goes to ottawa the sens sabres rivalry ramps up in a few years and more importantly the leafs suffering goes up exponentially.

Eichel projects to be one of the top 3 American players of all time. While McDavid is widely considered to be the better prospect everything that I've read said the difference is minimal. We *should* be getting a true-blue all-star either way. I'll be happy if anyone other than Toronto and maybe Edmonton gets McDavid.

I'm not doubting Eichel, but McDavid is as close as it gets to obviously being a better player. We've gotten the short end of the stick too many times. I want us to get the best possible result in something, for once.

My opinion is you don't trade Stewart,unless you know you can definetly resign him in the offseason. With reinhart,mc eichel,Ennis,moulson, you need a stewart and foligno to protect the smaller players. Stewart if he gets you a Second,big deal. You definetly don't trade him to Boston with lucic . If the sabres want to turn it around next season,Stewart should be a part of it. With one big signing or one more trade even next year and bring in one more goal scorer,they will be on the right track.

You trade Stewart and then pay him extra this summer for a short 2 year deal, maybe $10M. Cause no one else is going to do that and we have the money. Hopefully get a 1st for him (due to supply and demand) and then trade up in the draft as much as possible. We may even have to dump more players (even with term left) to allow us to really get another piece at draft or FA. We have the ability to make big splashes this summer even by trade from teams wanting to drop salary. With all this, Murray may still buyout Hodgson because you can't put him on the 4th line and expect anything more than what he did this year. Maybe try to trade or put on waivers near playoffs, to get the salary off the books?

Actually is was Philadelphia and I was saying, Florida won it last year and has the draft this year. Sabres win the lottery this year and have the draft next year. Get what I was going for? Theory failed when I heard about it being in Philly last year cause they did not pick first in 2013.
