It was unreal... I missed the first goal in the pisser but the made up for it big time - MaWLz
I was in NYC over the weekend. Tried to extend the trip to see the game but the wife couldn't take any more time off.
If it weren't a pain in the ass to get out to Nassau, we would have checked out the Islanders/Rangers game on Monday.
The NBA allstar tickets were going for over 800 US each for nose bleeds. We watched it at the bar instead.

I wonder if we could get a 3rd rounder for Stanton?
So we could recoup the 3rd we lost in the Kesler Trade.
Stanton is probably the worst D-man on this roster, guy is a blackhole for offensive momentum.
Not to mention his constant giveaways. - classic321
I still don't understand why Stanton gets all the hate. What else can you expect from a bottom pairing guy. He's pretty steady back there - all things considered. |

I think cCanucks D is just fine. Of course there will be bonehead plays, but we should be use to it by now with all the years of edler and Bieksa. |

As many keep pointing out, it's highly unlikely that Hamhuis is going anywhere. He and his family and their church have deep roots here. - Marwood

When did they get a team |
|
|
|
Here's the question , in the last two weeks WD turned on the light switch and Canucks have found their game. Is this team now a contender?
I credit this to injecting new blood and getting rid of old habits. We are finally a team that hits and chases hard ( Kenins, Dorsett, Hansen and now maybe McMillan). That constant pressure doesn't give a team the time to set up properly . Unlike the past teams played us and thought it was going to be a cakewalk. Now they are looking over their shoulders.
The younger faster D with additions of Biega Clendenning COrrado Stanton have been solid adds. They are inexperienced but make up for it in determination, speed , and good preparation. I think we would be perfectly fine over the next year to move out Bieksa.
The question came up last night by Blake Price , do we stay pat or do we go out and look for another part to the puzzle seeing we are playing good hockey? |

maybe slightly geographically but i would think the psychologist distance is way shorter to Vancouver... as well as the drive is safer and nicer. |

I imagine playing for the oilers makes a long drive to the rink, no matter how far away you live |

It's a tough call but also a good situation to be in.
We talked at the beginniing of the year about the infection youth can have in the dressing room. It can be a 'good' cancer that literally spreads through the room and forces the vets to take notice and play better. We are seeing some of that now.
If Higgins, Matthias, Kassian and Lack are being shopped as said earlier we have options to add an ingredient to solidify a playoff spot.
I still think Benning needs to add that final piece to get us to a solidified PO spot.
LA, SJ and Minny are not going away quietly. |

I asked this a week or two ago-- Does anyone still miss KB? It's funny how defensive some people get, but you can't get emotionally attached to players. |

If the team is playing like they have over the last two weeks , and Bieksa comes back after 2 months off and is going to have his three games of brain farts and it cost us points in a tight race, what do you do?
Very seldom does adding at TDL ever work out. I still hope we are sellers and build draft picks. I would be happy if a minor tweak is done , but nothing much to change the flow.
I would like a number 6 Dman like Despres or Engelland type for when things get out of control and add toughness. A Higgins replacement would be ok too
