Yes we did as a FA I think who played with Rochester a couple years ago, forward. - GilPerreault11
You're right! Just looked him up. He actually went back to college. I remember him and gringo lighting it up in the Q. I guess that didnt translate in rochester though. |

I don't think it matters where they slot the other 1st, just offering another 1st to some other team get's them to listen. - SABRES 89
I dont believe they are allowed to offer it though since both picks are in limbo in the conditional trade with the Jets. |

I think Roy can fix Gringo, I don't think Murray wants any part of. - SABRES 89
I think he's already on the way. His consistency still needs work, but he's dedicated himself defensively & has learned to do that and still produce offensively at the same time.
He'll end up being a good player, it just might not be here.
I don't think it's his talent that Murray doesn't like, I think that its his style of play that doesn't fit Murray's vision of this team going forward. |

it can't happen 89 it's not possible .. the only way is if we get a first at the deadline and use it that day - gerbe75pts
Why, we have the other first from either the Islander or Blues left, whichever one that wasn't included in the Myers deal. |

That wasn't what I was reading on TSN the other day, if that's the case they couldn't move either pick. |

But since its conditional based upon the isles/blues finish technically both are involved in the trade until its resolved (when one of them gets eliminated). |

At the moment, they are both in the Jets trade, we wont be able to move the other one until the playoffs are over, or until both the islanders and blues are eliminated from the playoffs. |

to many people think all the players we have in the AHL are the second coming or the saviors of this franchise, some Murray doesn't want and that's it. |

But if we sign ROR to a 6mil + contract,
Will we be able to afford everyone in a few years?
I'm torn bc I like him as a player
But I really think he wants to get to UFA, and I'm nervous about giving up those assets just to have him walk
And I think it's dangerous to pay him that much when a lot of our kids will prob outproduce him statistically. It could really throw the salary structure way outta whack - jdfitz77
Could we afford to sign everyone if web aid ROR $5 M a year? Not sure how one million bucks is a huge deal. |

It's good to have a new set of eyes along with his new scouts to evaluate the talent that Darcy brought in to bring us to where we are. |

We have 20 million free in cap space next year, and thats if we dont buy out Cody, we are fine with the cap.
I personally dont have much of an interest in O'Reilly, they should have their targets on a legit RW, who can score..............*cough* Kessel.
The only way I would like to see O'Reilly here, is if it involved Mouslon and a 1st. |

Grigorenko is going to pull a Johansen i could just see it ..
and i will be sick - gerbe75pts
I hope we don't trade him this offseason
Kane-McDavid-Grigorenko
Could be insane
And even if Grigorenko isn't "Murray's" guy...
Think about how much more valuable he'd be as a trading chip once he puts up numbers on that line |

They aren't trading Mouslon and Kessel's deal IMO is horrible. You really think Kessel is what Murray is looking for ? |

The question is can he be athletic enough to be in the NHL. No doubt he can read a play and make cute passes but his skating ,even though it got better, is still not good enough. |

Its my understanding that the nhl doesnt do open ended "future considerations". It can be as complex as necessary to define what will be returned. So saying the jets get the later of the two and the avs get the earlier should be fine. |

I really up so, Kessel is a player who can put the puck in the net no matter who is centering him.
Top two lines of...
Moulson McEichel Kessel
Kane Reinhart UFA signing
...would have a good combo of speed, size, grit, and scoring ability.
IMO you cant have a team built around all similar players, bad chemistry for lineups. If he could somehow work out a deal with Moulson, first and a prospect, I am all for O'Reilly. Anything else doesn't make much sense since you start acquiring redundant types of players. Not to mention we would be overloaded on the Left side. |

You mean the "lowest" of the picks?
The other pick sure can be in play. They just have to word the deal properly. |
