we need to get better on D if we want to start moving forward.. Beniot, Meszarous (or whatever) and weber are not going to help that. I am ok with Strachan as a #7 but we will need someone else for the top 4

Do we really have to go after and over pay for ROR just because he may be on the block? I think people are rushing into building the new team. Going after players like this is going to cost a lot of prospects and picks, and we haven't had proper time yet to evaluate what we have in our system. What's the point of ROR as a Sabre when the plan is to have McEichel, Reinhart, Girgensons as a 1,2,3 punch? Is ROR going to be a 6 million dollar fourth line center? Or are we going to move him to wing, or waste one of our other centers talent by moving them to wing. In time there will be other good players on the block and UFA's available, we don't need to go after them all right now.
