Until they somehow miraculously won the lottery because they didn't make the playoffs.
No thank you to that. - kingcong39
As long as we finish 30th, I honestly don't care. We have a significantly better shot at picking Jack Eichel which I am fine with. If we finish 29th, then I will worry about who wins the lottery. |

Short answer...we needed scoring and toughness on the back end and addressed that with two young experienced players....gave up prospects (who cares we have enough and will be getting more), draft pick (again who cares we have enough) myers (6'8" but plays soft as if he was 5'8")..so i guess i like it. |

Before or after the Myers trade?
I can certainly see a rant coming from him after the trade. |

Trade Stewart to Boston for their 1st
We finish 30th
They miss the playoffs anyways & we win the lotto with their pick
Dynasty ensues |

I doubt they would trade their first for Stewart, unless it had a second or something else involved. just my opinion. |

Oh and about the ban, I am actually pleased to hear that.
I actually was concerned about him because it's not like him to be away for that long.
Glad he is okay health wise. |

I think if Boston was smart, they would realize they're going downhill in the NHL "talent cycle' and sell off their assets....even to the point of keeping some salary to get guys like Lu and Chara to playoff teams for pics and blue chip prospects. Call it a retool or a quick rebuild, but they don't have the cap space to add players that will get them to the cup and what's the point of making the playoffs to go a round or two? I think this version of their team is done. The should be looking forward to building around Subban rather than trade him for one guy and hope he takes them to the promised land.

What would I do. Interesting question. This question deserves a well thought out response and I must say I could offer a much better answer if given more time. But at face value....
I'd use my first round pick and my prospects along with some veterans to trade for a real impact player or two. I'd be searching for.. well.. a top 6 forward and a top 4 defender. That D corp is a mess. Trading Boychuk was not their smartest move, even though it had to be done.
My effort would be based on how much I love my job and how serious Cam Neely was. - TheSabresTaco
Trading him was fine, not replacing him is another thing.
I don't buy that he's suddenly an impact player at 31 years old |

So, Subban is minding the crease tonight for the Bruins.
Is he being, dare I say it, being showcased perhaps for all the NHL teams that are void of any NHL quality talent in their organizations at that position? |

the simple answer is yes, but as Seedy pointed out it's almost strange that they are going to give up on a touted prospect for Rask who hasn't been consistent for them in the first place. |

maybe its the other way around.. maybe they are getting a look at subban in order to pack this season in, trade Rask for good return and re-tool this off-season.. Not a good idea but just a thought |

I honestly think they're approaching that playoff-bubble malaise that the sabres were in for years.
Trade Rask, Lu & Chara now while you can still stock the cupboards with the return. They're kidding themselves if they think they still have many years ahead of them.
Especially if they are playing Subban for just that reason. |

Yeah it seemed like everytime we played Boston I noticed him being a pain more than chara. Maybe he wasn't gonna score a ton from the back end but he is/was a bruiser of a dman and very good defensively from the opponents blue line and out. |

No, and that's as far as any discussion of bans and ban history needs to go. He must just be taking a break |
