If that's the case, MJ needs fired, and they need to bring in a coach that won't let his stars dictate his decisions.

Give us Babcock. Hell I'd be fine with Tortz honestly. Someone with some balls.

Spot on. I'd make one small change..

Mario was the most talented player ever. Gretzky was the best player ever.

99's numbers are too much to even argue this.

But, I saw Mario do things that no player I've ever seen before or after him could do. Closest I've seen was Ovie in his first few seasons. That breakaway he had in Phoenix was Mario-esque.

- 87_71_11_29

There's no doubt Gretzky had the greatest career, by far. It's not even close. And Mario was the greatest talent ever but the greatest player was #4 Bobby Orr. No player could control a game the way he did. Orr was +124 in a season!!!! He won scoring titles as a Dman....I wonder what his corsi and fenwich would've looked like...and this is coming from a HUGE Mario fan

IF this is true, someone needs to tell Crosby he may be the captain, but he isnt the coach. And then Mario should come over and female dog smack him and remind him whos really in charge.

One thing I have always hated and will always hate is a player undermining a coach. I dont care how big a star they are.

- thickman1178

If I'm MJ and this is indeed happening, i make Crosby sit a game and make it well known that he is a healthy scratch.

Absolutely... it's all era based. Gretzky was just ahead of his time.

The nutrition/training thing is huge. Gretzky was so slender and just weak looking. Imagine him with Crosby's build?

- rival22

I've heard 66's training was to stop eating french fries 1 month before the season starts.

Have you ever seen the SNL skit where Gretzky is water skiing? More like the frame of tech support than NHL star.

To be fair 71 doesn't look like a workout beast either.

He can't. It's a Country Club organization ... he will do whatever Sid wants ... or Mario. Heck, do you think Tocchet was MJ's choice for an assistant? I seriously doubt it.

But Lemieux did the same thing to Scotty Bowman. Yeah though, 87 can't make decisions like that and MJ needs to own the team. Patrick Roy wouldn't let that fly.

Malkin would be untouchable if he spent the summer training with Letang. His offseason stuff is supposed to be impressive.

87 is demanding 14 be on his line which is causing 39 to play his off wing, and PH and 71 aren't working well together.

MM just said on the western road trip, the lines were posted with 14 and 71 together and there was a meeting with 87 and MJ and that was that.

- sammy87

Only way I'm ok with this is if Johnston is working a plan. Sort of like, "ok, we'll give your way a chance. If it doesn't work, we do it my way."

Hopefully Johnston has the stones to do that.

MM was talking about Iggy and how much of a joke it was. 500 goals on 1 side, come to pitt and you gotta change. Also saying 14 is not a top6 anymore.

I've never seen Orr play much aside from a few games and highlights, but he definitely revolutionized the entire game. Before him, defensemen were very North-South, and never circled back. He changed the entire way defensemen play and made the game look very simple and easy. He had an extremely smooth stride, and he never seemed to even be trying.

Based solely on point totals (albeit projected for the rest of this year), he is as much a top 6 forward as he has ever been. Take that how you want.

Soooo...Penguins fans:

You'll all be very happy to know that, because Vinny Lecavalier is such a train wreck, "Mr. Train Wreck" himself, the beloved Zac Rinaldo, will be making his long-anticipated return to the Flyers lineup tomorrow afternoon against the Nashville Predators.

/sarcasm

My top hope is that Shea Weber destroys him with a hit 6 seconds after Rinaldo steps on the ice, and gives him some sort of non-head-related injury that forces him to miss about 2 seasons worth of hockey.

That Iggy mess is on Disco. Sids line was the best in the league at the time so he didn't want to split it up and Dan wouldn't move Neal back to the left side. He loved that 1 timer from the off wing...as far as 14 ,he may not be top 6 anymore but he is on this team right now. But there alot worse top 6 around the league than #14

58 is a complete monster in the gym. He's up there with a handfull of NHLers. Cammalleri, 87, Stamkos, 58, and crazily enough Danius Zubrus. Shea Weber showed up to training camp in 2013 at 6'4, 238 pounds, 4% body fat. Chara is a freak, too.

The NHL all-star no gym team:

Colby Armstrong - Sutter - Kessel

Matt Niskanen - John-Michael Liles

Honourable mention to proud Manchester Monarch Mike Richards.
