I haven't seen if they've recalled anyone. But I guess it's possible they recall Pysyk and either Ruhwedel or McCabe. - HonkFortheGoose
Maybe they'll call up Ruhwedel. |

hopefully he gets his poop together. - Jeropotato
I've long thought he could be trade bait to land a 1st line winger but either way doesn't help.
He's young though and its been a rough year so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt |

A friend told me they did recall 2 guys, one is McCabe, not sure if the other is Ruhwedel or Pysyk. |

Serious question: can somebody tell me what is wrong about Zads saying he plans to play well?
What about that Requires team discipline? Is it the presumption he will play with as many dmen hurt as there are? |

I'd hate to just trade him now because of issues. I'm glad they're addressing the issues though and not letting him get away with it. Hopefully he learns from it. That's really all we can ask for.
Besides, if they pull the trigger to move him now, who knows if the return will be a diminished at all being that he has documented "issues" as of right now. I'm sure other GMs in the league see what's going on with him, just like us fans do. |

I was kidding. As in he was suspended because if he plays well we might win |

I'm sure there's more to it than that. I doubt we ever know the full story. |

I agree which is why the "issues" don't help either way. He's just someone i identified as a potential trade piece, especially if they plan to speed things up. He's got plenty of upside, lots of tools in his game to like but he's one of those "project players".
He's grown on me since draft day so I wouldn't mind if they decided to keep him as part of the core but I think he could be the guy you have to move to get that big name. |

If I'm remembering correctly, the day they made the Kane trade, Murray said he's one of the guys that he doesn't want to trade. The list was a bit different from the morning conference to the evening one, but I believe Zads was on it both times. |

I read that the Sabres might have some interest in Cam Atkinson. Not sure why Columbus would want to trade him but again I haven't seen any of their games this year. - mhp
I loved Atkinson in I believe the Sabres home opener. It seemed he was all over the place. |

And I believe him (sorta) but he may have no choice. One of those you gotta give to get kind of deals especially if it puts you over the top. It's entirely possible that he winds up playing well enough that it's not even a consideration, which might be what Murray's thinking in having him on his I don't want to trade list.
Side note about that, I was interested to hear that Foligno is on that list as well. |

February break with my family before my daughter heads to college next year. I feel bad reading about the weather home.
The temperature is 82 - 85 degrees every day. It rains for about 45 minutes most nights to cool things off. Great people. Awesome food. Amazing rum. |

I don't like the O'Reilly talk. It seems like Murray is stuck on having to be good next year. I'd rather see what we have in our prospects
Also, I thought Murray wanted character guys? We have Kane, Bogosian who was rumored to have issues (I know Myers was too) and O'Reilly who seems like he cares more about money than hockey. Not to mention these guys have basically no playoff experience.
I figured guys like Sharp or Oshie would have been targets |

I thought that was a bit interesting as well. However, when Foligno is playing the type of game we know he's capable of, I can't disagree. He's been that type of player for a good portion of this season. Especially just prior to his hand injury and just after. I think a lot of the difference between this year and last for him was the surgery on his shoulder. It's obvious he couldn't play the type of game he wanted to last year and didn't quite know what to do out there because of it. |

Crazy idea: trade Moulson to Wash and acquire Atkinson from CBus and have a line of Ennis-Girgs-Atkinson. |

The tough part about that is Moulson has a NTC. So he'd have to waive to go there. I'm sure if he got the chance to win a Cup, he might be willing, but I know he was really happy to be coming back here so I don't know how easy it would be to convince him to waive. I'm sure that having that NTC was really important to him. I doubt he'd want to waive it within the first year of the deal. |

I like him targeting young 20s guys with strong NHL resumes rather than older guys or inexperienced prospects.
And I like his effort to get things in order for 16/17, or even next year. |
