I agree i go to about 90% of the amerk home games and when he was with Armia the two showed something buffalo hasnt had in a long time..Patience. IMO the most important trait.. our possession numbers are awful. I love schaller but he's another north south guy. With armia gone for kane (honestly a great hockey trade for both sides) Grigo is our only pure offensive talent down there. Kids been all over the place, let him settle in and if he improves as much a last summer we may be impressed. Also the competition for those top 9 spots will be intense next year.
I see McCabe as a poor mans ryan mcdonagh, Great in both zones but keeps it simple and isn't flashy. Pysyk is another patience player that can control the temp and has an impressive transition game. 3-4 guy.
Conclusion: ROR is a great player but honestly with Zads and Risto up already our D depth isn't outstanding Pysyk and McCabe will be solid NHL guys and with the competition it's grigo spot to lose he got the talent .

What are your thoughts on Carrier, catenacci, Samuels-Thomas, & our goalies - jdfitz77
Carrier: Seems to get lost in the crowd. Early in the season he looked good playing with Grigo and Armia but when the injury's and losing streak came he slumped harder than anyone. He seems to be fall on the depth chart, should be intertesting to see if the compitition of bailey and baptiste helps move him in the right direction.
Catenacci: Very disappointing, I thought he looked great this summer and hasnt done much of anything this season.
JST: starting to realize why we traded a 7th for him. Seems sluggish, not an impact player and unlike Schaller doesnt have the speed to be an super effective role player would be surprised if he plays in the show

Kane will play hard every game. He has a quick wrist shot, just not an accurate one. He does not see the ice well nor use his team mates. His passing is questionable. Still I wasn't thrilled to see him go for his on ice play however when a team as a whole has had enough of one guy it can't be the team. I don't see Kane wanting to to stay in Buffalo as it is like Winnipeg, its a city without flash. It's east or west coast for Kane in the future. |

I didn't want Myers traded...
But man, Bogosian is making me not miss him at all.
I know it's only been 3 games,
But I'm baffled at how Winnipeg even considered moving him.
He's playing at a top pair level IMO
He's been great - jdfitz77

Kane will score 40 goals next year. Then he will do okay after that and then score 40-50 again before he becomes a UFA.
Then he will get his wish and sign with Vegas! The man loves Las Vegas. - TheUltimateJet
Lol 40-50 goals on a Nolan coached team? Ya right. He'd be lucky if he makes it to 20. |

He won't play on a Nolan coached team for more than 30 games.
(now I've done it)

It was two prospects +1st +2nd for Pomminville +4th. ROR is also much younger. - Cheeseballin
Larsson and Hackett were not blue chip or grade A prospects. Although it was a mid level 1st in a very deep draft. |

He's been great laying out hits and all but he has contributed nothing on the offensive side of things. Myers however is a point per game player in Winnipeg so far. |

From everything I read about Carrier - prior to him playing in the AHL this year - was that he was a hard working player willing to get his nose dirty and fight for pucks.
Is this not the case? Could it be "rookie-itis"? |

ROR is a draft day deal. Murray knows price will be higher but he also knows if he waits it out it helps this year's team bottoming out. I hope we get him and Pysyk should not be a piece going back. He's been steady more so than Myers when he is here which is why the numbers proved we should move Myers and that contract now while we can before Myers had more control. Each team got the players they wanted but we have enough depth we'll be fine |

If we are truly going after ROR. Who let's be serious is no better then a mid level 2nd line center AT BEST. We shouldn't be giving up a first. I'd rather sign Vermette then trade a first for this guy. The most I'd give up is Ruhwedel, 2nd and a prospect like Baptiste. |
