Kane in a heartbeat. Hell it looks like Murray would take Kane over ROR even when he is injured. Shows what Murray thinks of ROR. - Jammerz04
I think he took Kane injured because it gives the Sabres a better chance at drafting 1st overall while still adding a useful piece to the team. That trade really was the perfect storm. |

McCabe (really good d prospect), Gringo and our 2016 first for ROR - homiedclown
No way in hell I trade either McCabe or the 2016 1st for him Home, let alone both.
People aren't going to like hearing this but I believe the best way to complete the top 6 is another bad season next year. Not hideous like this year and last, but bad as in a top 8-10 pick. That same offseason you can go after a guy like ROR without losing any assets.
If Ennis is one of your 3rd line wingers because the top 6 are all better, you have a quality team, IMO. |

NO F ING WAY! - Irish 14
I mean an improvement where they start to look like an actual team but still lose more than they win because they have so many young players learning their way in the NHL. |

It's not that i disagree but for 2016, I don't know how many sure fire top 6 forwards there are in that draft outside of Matthews. I know Kirwan had some hype around him but the stats are a bit disappointing.
Chychrun and Day are the two other big names but they're D-men |

Would this be an acceptable 3rd line for everyone:
Moulson-Girgensons-Ennis
This takes into account Moulsons contract and the top 6 being too good for Ennis and Girgensons.
I think I'd preer one of the young guys playing so well that he gets that 3rd line LW spot and pushes Moulson out the door, but the above would be solid against teams lesser lines and D pairings. |

You can always trade a current D man in a package for a forward should you get one of the two D men you mentioned but that is only IF you get one of them. |

Well that is one thing that could be a positive. It is rumoured that some of his injuries were actually just him being in rehab. |

I see what you're getting at (about the top 6 being too good for them being a positive) but ideally you'd like those other two wingers to be better defensive players than Ennis and Moulson.
IMO, if those two aren't in the top 6 they're not here. |

He's looking sick.
If I were MacTavish I'd trade Hall before Yakupov right now.

I think that line would beat up on a lot of other 3rd lines. But the question is, who fills out the top 6? I dont personally see mcEichel stepping in to a NHL uniform and playing 1st line minutes against crosby or P. Kane....Tavares. That leaves Rinehart to play top line duties......not sure he's ready for that responsibility either. The last thing i want to see the Sabres become is Edmonton East. |
