Winnik just got you the rights to Burrmistrov and a fourth.
Just what I'm reading. - Byfuglien Ate Me
Winnek helped his trade value last night, now I hope we keep him out of the lineup pending the trade, don't want him injured and his value won't go up any more then it is.
Lupul looked good. Any scout in attendance looking at Lupul had to be pleased. Lets hope we can trade him before he gets injured again.
I would keep Kadri, but would like Bozak gone. Too bad the Jets didn't play a better game. We looked like we are out of this slump and could go on a streak the other way now. |

did 4 1/2 years there, football mostly, lived in the M section during most of it.
Bovaird and Mackey (not far from Dixie). - aries1976
I grew up in the D Section, old Bramalea, Lived a year in the M section (Massey), the a couple years in the L section (Leacrest) and then a year in the N Section (Nuttall)
I think Bramalea is the only place that I know of where you can say "A section, L Section, etc. and people from there know what you are talking about.

What time on Sunday do leaf trades usually get announced?
EDIT: NOthing to do with Rielly - mycokes
I think on draft day we will all discover that there is no such thing as a rebuild, yet again.
Winnik will be gone at the deadline. Nothing else will happen and our big "rebuild" will be nothing more than getting rid of UFA's at the deadline. We'll replace them with other cheap UFA's, probably not as good ... and compete for that coveted 9th overall pick again next year.

Lupul does usually look good when he plays. His injuries are the only negative against him. |

Injuries are a problem. Unwilling to play even a little bit banged up is unacceptable. This guy breaks a nail every 2 weeks and then takes 2 weeks off....gets old. |

Don't think it's anything to do with willingness. I think he gets hurt so often that coaches keep him out when he's banged up to prevent further injuries. |

Morning Leafers!
Question. If Winnik is so good, why don't you extend him? I understand and want the Leafs to trade Kessel and Phaneuf, but why Winnik? |

If they can keep him healthy long enough to trade him, it's working out pretty good.

Based on past exprience with this team, my gut tells me you might be right. But based on Dubas saying we don't want anymore quick fixes, I have hope something better will be done.
The lottery might be a decosion maker. If we win the first over all they could say wow a line of Mcdavid, kessel and jvr will be great so lets keep kessel.
Something of the core must change, either dion or kessel has to go, and would also like Lupul and bozak gone. Time will tell. |

Winnik is a good player now, but the team isn't, so it seems wasteful to keep a valuable asset like him around when his efforts will go for naught. By the time the team is good enough to make proper use of a player like him, he probably won't be as effective as he is now, so they're better off trading him for picks, and or prospects who can help them down the road, when the timing is better.
The present is a write off, so the future is where management must focus their efforts. |

It really is about the draft which is why the leafs are in a holding pattern.
Macdavid or eichel would slot right into the nhl and management would most likely keep the core together. Anyone else is a 4-5 year rebuild, which will then give the go ahead to dismantle the core. |

same as Santo...trade them for assets now, offer to resign them in the summer with signing bonuses for uprooting them to a contender |

UFA who's going to be too old when the rebuild is done, and who could get us some value now.
That being said, I'd gladly re-sign him in the summer to act as a mentor for the young team. |
