Not sure what your point here is.

How about Gagne from center to Wing? Two way street.

I think its more the position, than the linemates.

Edit: Gagne, yeah, some can make the transition, others are natural centers.
Another Edit: He doesn't mesh with Voracek, & Giroux, 5 on 5?
But meshes fine with them 5 on 4.

Man according to the NHL.com highlights Rinne was (frank)ing incredible.

He made 2 great saves on G and one on Read that had me saying wow.

Dude's an animal.

He is amazing!
The Simmonds goal was going left, while he moved left, deflected right while he threw his glove over & almost had it.

Solid.

Finally seeing Schenn in the middle. I think that's going to be where he plays his most effective hockey.

I tuned in for the last 5 of regulation, then stayed until the end. They got trucked in OT. Lucky to make it through, imo

Just laughable that Amac had been sitting out for Luke Schenn

I wasn't there unfortunately. I wasn't even a fleeting thought.

But it certainly was more than a game. I understand that. But I'll never know what it actually felt like to watch that game on television. Seeing people run in the streets with flags and banging pots and pans. I would have been one of them. I would have been hoarse for a week.

Instead, I have the movie Miracle. I was about 11, I guess, when that came out ('04 right?) and that movie inspired me to push myself as an athlete. It sounds silly, but there's a whole crop of athletes out there who's lives were changed with that movie, as much as an 11 year old life could change. I watched the ending scene a thousand times so I could write Michaels' call down verbatim. I taped to my bedroom door and it's still there today.

Me and my friends would say Herb's speeches to each other in the driveway, or in the basement playing ministicks, or before roller hockey games in East Pete.

It's hard to put into words the scope of that team's effect on the nation in 1980 and its after effect, even nowadays, even if partially glorified by Hollywood.

i've shared this here, more than once, that i discovered hockey during these games, and they changed my life forever. i was just 7 years old. one month and 2 days later, i attended my first NHL game, in philadelphia. the rest is history. the soviet game was shown on tape delay after it had ended, but i will never forget watching it at my neighbor's house across the street, none of us knowing the outcome until it was over.
jim craig was my first hero. i became a goalie in that moment. that is what i wanted to do and who i wanted to be. it happened in an instant, and it's a gift i'm still living to this day. i've often wondered who i'd be if i hadn't experienced those games. i'm thankful that it's nothing more than a hypothetical.

to be able to compete for my country - granted as a 40 year old in a limited tournament - is one of the greatest achievements of my life and i have the 1980 team to thank for it.

i get to play tomorrow night, on the anniversary of that special game, and i can't think of any other place i'd rather be.

PP and even strength is different. Through the first 30 games of the season, playing primarily left wing, Schenn was scoring at a 60 point pace before he went into his long slump. It's really not the position in my opinion. We'll see when he goes into another likely funk at center.
