He will be called up. I think he's better than Lack. Imagine if Markstrom was called up and took the Canucks to the cup finals and won! He'd be a legend forever in this city. - Scooby_Doo
As long as he doesn't pull a Subban......

Never go full Subban. Didn't take you long to drop him. |

That was probably one of the worst debuts from a goalie in a long time. Those goals were so bad. |

Re entry waivers doesn't exist
I have a 3 step program for you

Repeat steps 1 and 2 - Bieksa#3
re entry wasn't what i was really worried about , it was more of when miller is back and he is sent down, i didn't know if waivers applied when he is sent back down, i'm not very well versed with the waiver rules. |

I picked up Mike McKenna in the pool and he did the exact same as Subban. Both are still better than Mike Smith. How that guy is still getting games is beyond me. |

Yeah, that was pretty bad - Looked like a few softies that I let in during a shinny game on Friday night.

I had read that its 10 games or 30 days, whichever is sooner, before waivers is required to send down again. I dont know how true but it allows for Markstrom to come up for a bit without risk of claim going back |

10 games in the lineup, so even if he's dressed as a backup I believe it counts...but maybe it's different for goalies? |

Once the playing season waiver period commences, players who are not waiver-exempt (explained below) must pass through waivers before they are loaned to another team (e.g. their minor league affiliate).
A player may be loaned to a club of another league if (a) he’s already been through waivers during the current waiver period and (b) the Player has not played in 10 or more NHL Games since the last time he went through waivers, and (c) more than 30 days have not passed since the last time he went through waivers.
In other words, if a player just went through waivers within the last month and hasn’t played in many games, he’s not going to have to clear waivers again.
For goalies, “games” means games played (i.e. games in which the goalie actually played in the game).
So as a goalie you can ride the pine however long it takes and get sent down without worry. |

No goalies are different. Games played for goalies are actual games they played in not just dressed. That is why Detroit is the predicament they are in they played their call up too many times because they had 2 goalies injured. Now they have to run with 3 goalies for fear of losing one to waivers. So if Markstorm gets called up don't expect to see him play. |

So isn't he allowed to play in 9 games or is it that once he plays in ine game he's waiver elgible? |

So assuming he doesnt play 10 games, would he not need to be back in Utica in 30 days to stay exempt?

No he went through waivers in September so its a non issue as there is no such thing as re-entry waivers. |

His waiver rights would still expire and still need to go through regular waivers again:
13.5 Waiver Expiration. The rights granted under this Article to Loan a Player(s) who is
otherwise required to clear Regular Waivers to a minor league club expire for any Player(s) who,
after clearing Regular Waivers:
(i) is not Loaned to a minor league club, or is Recalled from a minor league
club (except on emergency Recall) and remains on an NHL roster for thirty (30) days (cumulative) or plays ten (10) NHL Games (cumulative),
or
(ii) is Recalled from a minor league club on emergency Recall and plays in
ten (10) NHL Games (cumulative) while on emergency Recall. For
purposes of clarity, games played while on regular Recall shall not count
towards the ten (10) NHL Games in this subsection (ii).
EDIT: They would expire assuming he spends 30 days on the NHL roster |

Benning just said Miller should be out 4-6 weeks. He feels Lack can handle the load and Markstrom has been great for the Comets.

With 3 of 4 top D men out ,and our top goalie , our 1 St line RHF , and 2 nd LC out this is sure a trying time for the team.
To me it proves how good the farm system is, how the team does rely on our kids, and how much of a structure play the team plays as well as the Comets mirroring their style of play.
Great job to the organization. |

That works out pretty good, even Markstrom is available for up to 9 ganes so Lack doesn't have to get burnt out starting every game.
I'm pretty excited to see Markstrom up here. They call him " the alien" because of how freakishly athletic/flexible he is for a guy of his size. |
