Markstrom IS an NHL caliber goalie, just not an NHL starter... yet....

I do agree however that Matthias is a good Player and i do believe Luongo should have started the Heritage Classic game.... i'm definitely not a Luongo hater, in fact I own a Luongo jersey....

Markstrom is an ahl starter. He hasn't proven anything other than that. The return for luongo was terrible, it might of been necessary but was still nothing close to what a starter of his caliber is worth.

As I was trying to say.... Markstroms NHL experiment has not gone well but the majority of it was on a fractured panthers team. On Vancouver his small stint wasn't electrifying at all. He may be able to back up in the NHL, my comment of him not being an NHL player is just that, he plays in Utica. You can't throw an NHL starting label on him yet. Eddie Lack is much better than him... at least proven in the NHL and he is not a starter, but he is close. As we knew with Schenider an NHL starting gig is very hard to fill and succeed.

Pens fans are actually the one I find least reasonable. Every time one of their players gets hit you see about 8 comments in their thread wanting someone to go two hand the guy in the face. Only fan base I've seen consistently rooting to see an opposition player get hurt.

We've had a lot of bad ones over the years, love their stadium jerseys. Good first period to watch, chances at both ends, our PK is horrendous though so I'm holding my breath when we're shorthanded. Passing out might be preferable at times
