I would say that 75% chance that he's a goner IMO |

I never said it would be both or either, but to think you can get ROR for a 2nd round pick and a prospect is not going to happen. That other 1st we have when they know if they can move it will probably be included plus a player and a prospect.

Big Z needs to get it together he's in the NHL and not in day care, 19 or not. MacKinnon of the AVS is 19 and he doesn't seem to have a problem. |

There are plenty of other 19 year olds that got into trouble. Some guys mature faster than others. Do I agree that he needs to get it together? Sure. But the things he's done wrong aren't exactly terrible. He has an issue with not being where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there.
The issue with the plane on the way back from the Dominican isn't entirely his own fault. I'm sure he learned his lesson about scheduling flights the day before he has to be back in town now. Being late a meeting tells me he needs to learn how to set an alarm clock. It's typical stuff that plenty of 19 year olds do. Were you never late for work when you were 19? I know I was, and I'm a really responsible person. Sometimes poop happens. |

It is, but it isn't. Gionta said it best. You always schedule your flights for the day before. This way if there is an issue and you get bumped, you still make it back in time.
I'll admit, I have a habit of doing the same thing Zads did. I haven't had an issue as an adult, but when I was still in high school I got stuck in Texas for like 3 extra days once. My parents had planned everything, so it wasn't my fault, but it does happen. |

Both Zadorov and Grigorenko is a mistake IMO. Zads is gonna be good. - sippyd
I agree, grigorenko and a 2nd should get it done. |

Don't worry he will resign with the Avs and this will all go away.
And it sounds like the Sabres want to acquire him and not the Avs wanting to give him away, so why would they trade him for less. If Murray wants him that bad he is going to have to pay up |

Lets be honest here.
When you were 19 with his cash, and if you lived on the west side as we knew back in our day, you think you may have missed a few early meetings with your NHL club?
I know I would have and I am responsible as they come.
He's a kid. And that's really all that needs to be said.
Some deal better than others only because some are not ready to grow up yet, and this guy, knowing what I know of life, does NOT BLAME THEM ONE BIT! |

and the leafs have nothing that the Avs would or should want. After all this, I really do feel he is going to stay with the Avs. That line of Landy, ROR, MacK is just unstoppable the past few weeks since being put together full time |

Thing is, there's a decent chance he might. Everyone loves to point out that he's not darcy, this would be the one area that really separates him.
If he really likes O'Reilly, it wouldn't shock me to see him give up a lot (or a lot by comparison to what people have said here) to get him. |

No way I want oreilly. Everyone that wants him will be throwing him under the bus in 2 years. Sure he's def a good player but his CONTRACT will be devastating. Players like girgensons will want the same in a coupe years. A high dollar contract brings high expectations with it. Just look at how we treated vanek, hodgson and staff in the past. Would people of called vanek "lazy" if he was scoring 40 goals only making 4 million instead of 7? Would we of wanted to get rid of staff if he only made 2.5 million? Would people want to dump Cody if he got a bridge deal of 3 million instead of a long term 5 mill? If oreilly only scores 40-50 pts 2 way play or not we will want his head if we are paying him 7 million. People and the team will always expect more. I don't see how grigorenko can't score 40 for a third of his salary. I actually liked his defense when he was up here, his scoring will come. Now people want to dump zadorov because of his "attitude" one week when they were praising the Kane trade who by all accounts has a worse one. Plus add a 1st in a trade? Crazy. No to oreilly. He is not worth it - Fattony1187

Murray can take his "10 minute I spoke and he just listened bumhole speech" and shove it.
That's not how you deal with young kids.
And this is just one reason why I know Murray is going to fail.
His I am the best ego (for no reason at all whatsoever) will be his downfall as well.
Accomplish something first before you come off as some kind know it all.
Hell I was loaned out to another company for 75,000 big ones for 5 months, that's when TALK, not until then!
The only thing Murray does for me is play the fool the more and more he speaks.

I don't get any of this out of what he says. Nothing that he does to me says "I am the best." What it says to me is that he know what he wants and he's not afraid to go after it. He also knows what kind of conduct he expects from the team and he addresses it when it's a problem. I think you're being overly critical of him, just like you accuse others of being when it comes to Nolan. |

The nerd (in my opinion) has accomplished nothing to talk the way he does.
Even in his league , when you get loaned out for 75,000 k for 5 months of work (like I was and this is 12 years ago mind you), to a competitor that's when you can talk.
When he does something besides talk, I'll be the first to say , "good job", not until then.
Right now he is all mouth and if I could tell you how many guys have promised me that they could build a city with their mouth...I would never have to lift a finger, sadly my fingers are raw... |

Stop comparing what you do to what they do. It's completely different. You have your own head so far up your own ass it's not even funny. Stop patting yourself on the back and actually pay attention to something other than yourself.
He did do something. He just made a blockbuster move that you don't see all that often in the league anymore. This team isn't going to go from the god awful mess he inherited to a finished product overnight.
Just to put it in perspective for you, since you seem to only be able to relate to the type of work you do. What he was given was a swamp and a bunch of materials, not all of which are actually useful for the project. He was told "build me a building here that's the highest class possible." It's not like you just pour some concrete and hope for the best. There's a plan that needs to be put in place and steps that need to be implemented one at a time to make it successful. That's what he's doing right now. He's trading in the materials that he was given that don't work and turning them into materials he'd prefer to have, that he feels are a better fit for the project. Make sense??? |

I have no problems with him. He's been dealt a difficult hand and has to just smile and try and say the right things.
Every first year GM gets criticized. He's got some balls and he's not afraid to take a risk. |

As far as making sense to him, I doubt it.
