Looking at our UFA's and likely trade pieces, I think their main value might be in making the current team worse by subtraction. Stew might bring something ok back but I'm not really counting on it. |

When you finally realize that being loaned out (dishing out) for 75k and paying my salary for 5 months 12 years ago is a big thing maybe then I will take you seriously.
Go down to Lake avenue in Rochester right by Hamelin beach, with 85,000 sq. feet of stamp work.
7 different stamp patterns on the site, bridge decks with a a 12" x 12" tile pattern laid on a 45 degree angle to the curb line with various integral concrete colors and hand tossed and applied color hardeners, bus stop pads stamped with a 4" granite tile pattern, 8' wide sidewalks stamped with a herringbone brick pattern, all corners stamped with a grand ashlar slate pattern, medians stamped with a Belgian running bond brick pattern that I began laying parallel to the curb line until I showed the DOT EIC what that was going to look like and then they changed to my idea which was laying that pattern perpendicular to the curb line in the median and while in that 5 month period I did every single bit of finishing and stamping with a 4 man crew.
You can say anything you want, but honestly ,ignorantly know nothing of what you speak.
Back then there was only one guy for that job, and that was me. - BuffaloHardHat
I am not so sure about that, i stopped by there late this summer when i was out in rochester delivering important things for my important job.
Couldnt believe what a dump that place is, i thought concrete lasted longer than that.

So apparently Zetterberg is injured but wasn't on TSN's injury list. At least the guy I'm facing has Vatanen and Andersen. |

I use that too. They had E.Kane listed on the Jets team. |

I hope I'm wrong but I think a 2nd might be the ceiling. I hope TM spends some picks to move up in the draft or shipped out for young players. A good secondary benefit of the Kane trade is letting all the other GMs know that he's open for business. |

Not the way they salt now a days.
I have no idea how it looks now, I have not been down there in about 8 years since I took my wife to dinner down there at "Dominics on the lake" on Lake avenue.
If I were a betting man I would bet the state will not pay for 85,000 sq feet + in stamp work on one site so close to a heavily salted area again.
By the way concrete now a days is mostly chemicals.
It's not as a whole what it once was back in days of yore.
If you have some one doing anything for you , just be sure to tell them you would like a 4,000 pound mix minimum (patio, walkway , sidewalk etc: ) with straight independent cement (type 1) with a blend of 80% to 20% #1 and 2 stone and absolutely no fly ash (additive that weakens and darkens concrete).
If stamping , go with a 70 to 30 blend for stability.
Driveway if possible now a days use a 4,500 psi mix for certain.
edit" be sure its crushed stone in the mix and not pea gravel for any type of exterior work."
Pea gravel is okay for basements and floors , anything INSIDE because it is heated.
Pea gravel is soft, "softer" then crushed stone.
Pea gravel is so soft it holds water, freezes and during the winter it pops in any type of exterior work.
Crushed stone is more dense and does not hold water.
You are safe using pea gravel for interior heated concrete.

If buffalo tin hat stared at that long enough he might throw up. Sounds like he is going through concrete withdrawal.

Yep, I even edited the difference between pea gravel and crushed stone in a mix. - BuffaloHardHat
Hey hat how does the contractor or person know the supplier is actually supplying 4500 or 4000 psi concrete? Thought it couldnt be tested till after it hardened. |

It can be core tested 365/24/7 or....
That's why I have testers taking cylinders on state job sites every pour we do.
They break the cylinders at specific dates and they see what psi the concrete has "broken at".
But when it comes to just a home owner knowing, be sure to ask for concrete ticket receipts as well.
The tickets will tell you what psi was used on your job. |
