Obviously, he plans on trading him, if possible. He just talked his way out of it kinda by saying if he's still here he would begin contract talks. Smoke and mirrors. - sippyd

Seeing as we can hold half the remaining salary, the chances are good |

Thank goodness that change was made during the last round of bargaining in the CBA. That is going to really help the Sabres chances of moving guys that previously would have been impossible to move. |

COULD SABRES TRADE ZADOROV IN DEAL FOR O'REILLY?
TheFourthPeriod.com
The Sabres scratched young defenseman Nikita Zadorov from the lineup on Sunday, prompting speculation that he could be on his way out of Buffalo.
Zadorov, 19, was believed to have been reprimanded for showing up late Sunday morning and was taken out of the lineup for Sunday night's game.
Regardless of the reasoning, the Sabres are reportedly toying with the idea of packaging him in a trade.
According to the Buffalo News, the Sabres are tremendously interested in Colorado Avalanche center Ryan O'Reilly and could package Zadorov and young center Mikhail Grigorenko for him.
Grigorenko played for Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy while he was the bench boss of the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
While the News notes that Zadorov has been a "non-starter" in any trade talks with other clubs, not actions this season could force Sabres GM Tim Murray to make a move. |

It's not Like we have this wealth of defensive players anymore, I don't think trading yet another is a good idea.
I sure hope that TM knows what he is doing because this could be screwed up big time.

I just hit the Esc key and it goes away. I'd rather deal with getting that message every so often instead of the obnoxious autoplay video ads they use. |

No way I want oreilly. Everyone that wants him will be throwing him under the bus in 2 years. Sure he's def a good player but his CONTRACT will be devastating. Players like girgensons will want the same in a coupe years. A high dollar contract brings high expectations with it. Just look at how we treated vanek, hodgson and staff in the past. Would people of called vanek "lazy" if he was scoring 40 goals only making 4 million instead of 7? Would we of wanted to get rid of staff if he only made 2.5 million? Would people want to dump Cody if he got a bridge deal of 3 million instead of a long term 5 mill? If oreilly only scores 40-50 pts 2 way play or not we will want his head if we are paying him 7 million. People and the team will always expect more. I don't see how grigorenko can't score 40 for a third of his salary. I actually liked his defense when he was up here, his scoring will come. Now people want to dump zadorov because of his "attitude" one week when they were praising the Kane trade who by all accounts has a worse one. Plus add a 1st in a trade? Crazy. No to oreilly. He is not worth it |

I never said it would be both or either, but to think you can get ROR for a 2nd round pick and a prospect is not going to happen. That other 1st we have when they know if they can move it will probably be included plus a player and a prospect.
That article I posted was from the Fourth period not me |
