The amount of people under valuing Kessel is amazing to be honest I think Florida gets the better end of the deal here. But its not that bad of a deal |

The guy that proposed Kessel, Robidas and JVR for Huberdeau, 2015 1st, Bergenheim and Pirri is nuts!
Kessel alone is worth Huberdeau, 2015 1st, and Pirri. So adding JVR and Robidas will bring us back Bergenheim? LOL!
If we are giving up Kessel, JVR and Robidas, the return at the very minimum will be:
Huberdeau
Gudbranson
Trochek
Bergenheim
2015 1st - cesareborgia
Where you getting JVR from....he aint going anywhere |

Kessel would have to go to a team that has the following characteristics:
1) a team that will be
2) a team that will be contending (not rebuilding)
3) Have a few really great underpaid players signed long term
(ex. Tavares)
4) Not a must but taking $ back will almost be a guarantee.
Best possible deal I can think of right now, something like:
To NYI: F Phil Kessel
To TOR: D Ryan Pulock, 2015 2nd round pick, 2016 1st round pick
or if it's Michael Dal Colle but then the islanders might want $ retained.

I don't know, both of the Panthers fans and their part-time beat writer who writes for the local supermarket circular can be pretty harsh. - jmatchett383
If you're coming to HB to read good writing then I would have to guess your reading level is just above 1st grade. Con-grat-u-la-tions! C'mon sound it out, I know you can do it little buddy. |

The Leafs will be lucky to get a return like that for Kessel. They are stuck with him. |

I'd do it, for both teams -- totally serious
Kessel goes someplace where he can just score goals and be a nobody, and you know that is what he wants. Everything about him screams that hockey is a job, not his life
Toronto gets the first-round pick and dumps the salary/contract for a team that won't contend
Everything else is just details to make it work financially, but that is what it boils down to - AllInForFlyers
hmmm, strange he would sign for 8 years if he wants to be elsewhere |

Pulock ain't going anywhere imo. Isles could be in somewhat desperate need of Dman if they can't retain Boychuk and getting rid of the guy who has karlsonn comparisons wouldn't be smart.
I think griffin reinhart would be the guy to part ways with in a Kessel trade.

It's not going to be the Islanders. Not ever.
Also, we don't have a 2nd round pick this year. |

yup. he's a total dog with no leadership abilities, he's immature and he doesn't make players around him better. he wants to do it his way or no way. this guy could be a fricken force in the NHL. not a 35 goal guy, but 55-60 goal guy. he just doesn't want it. |

Why would any team overpay for the Leafs hot garbage that they are trying to unload before the TDL? Kessel will go after the season. The only fit for him is Florida where he can float along without much scrutiny. Teams would be nuts to give up top prospects and picks for this guy. |
