I think Kessel brings a 1st, top prospect and a roster player. Talent,skill and upside of said roster player is to be determined.
As for Carter and Richards I think they are comparable. Long term deals at hefty cap hits. We can't compare their cap hits to Kessels as it was done at a time of a different ceiling of cap.

Sh*t. I like the idea of trying out DSP but Sekac showed lots of good flashed that he has a legit potential of becoming a top 6 frwd. Great puck control, great at carrying the puck... I feel he wasnt given a legitimate shot tbh... could bite back big time. |

even they aren't good comparables, as their cap hits are around 3mil less than kessel's.
there really aren't any good comparables......that was kind of my point. nobody really knows the impact that his contract will have on his trade value.
personally (and it's just my opinion), i think it will be a relatively significant impact....unless the leafs are willing to eat some salary.
