So 5 minutes on average while 4 with Getzlaf , sounds like the odd shift to me heck Sekac at the beginning of the year Therrien was experimenting with Pleckanec or Galchenyuk.

Sh*t. I like the idea of trying out DSP but Sekac showed lots of good flashed that he has a legit potential of becoming a top 6 frwd. Great puck control, great at carrying the puck... I feel he wasnt given a legitimate shot tbh... could bite back big time.

Sekac had speed to burn. Not sure DSP is an upgrade. I don't think it was salary related either... This one is a bit of a head scratcher.

Injuries had as much to do with him playing on the top line. Beleskey, Maroon, and Smith-Pelley have all spent time on the top line with Perry and Getzlaf not to mention the time when Perry was out. The Ducks have been continuously moving pieces around trying to find a consistent 3rd player to match with Getzlaf/Perry.

DSP also started most(51%) of his shifts in the offensive zone, but only ended his shifts there 46% of the time... which is a pretty awful discrepancy, while Sekac started only 45% of his shifts in the attacking zone, but finished there 48% of the time.

This means that when DSP is on the ice, the team goes from attacking to defending, while when Sekac is on the ice the team goes from defending to attacking.

Sadly I haven't looked in to the advance stats (I never took the time) but your percentage in ice time tells me is that he's been juggled around alot (meaning nothing) in Anaheim because there are better players. Same happened with Sekac (although I don't get why Weiss is getting some first line minutes) .Bergevin addressed a need on the third line , and I think DSP will fit in well on that line.

Sekac on the other hand , if he can't get it done on the top two lines, he will be in the same situation.
