For sure, it definitely doesn't hurt. But reading the comments from people who watch him regularly they all say that he's definitely earning his own points and not just riding shotgun with Ritchie, DeAngelo, etc.

I wasn't suggesting he was, I do know that his GM last year did say that he thought McCann was a better offensive player than his numbers suggested and I wonder has he improved greatly over last year? or has playing with better line mates allowed him to score more, probably a bit of both realistically.

Have yet to catch a Sault Ste game since the acquisitions.

He still the 1C?

Probably, yeah that was a great article. Their GM was Kyle Dubas who is now an assistant GM with TOR. He mentioned that his advanced stats(shooting percentage, zone entries, usage by coach) suggested that he had more upside to his game than what he had showed last year.

Let's be patient and pace ourselves here. I'm sure he'll eventually find his place in The Package.
- Nucker101

McCann is going to be what salvages the Kesler trade. He isn't going in The Package.

Hansen just reserved his spot in The Package though.

Anyone know how to search for old threads in the forum section? I'm trying to find an old thread but it only list the one's from the bloggers.

It doesn't help that i can't remember the name but a year or so back some poster complied a thread comprising all the best rants, freak-outs, temper-tantrums ever witnessed within the confines of this site.

Would love to find it as some of them are absolutely hilarious, one in particular from a very angry Wild fan using all caps gets me every time.

Help would be awesome, could use a good hockey laugh

Yup was a great article, can't remember who interviewed him but was really interesting......wonder if Tor got a really good guy in Dubas. They will likely fire him to cover Nonis's ass and blame it on fancy stats.

I know joking, but I think Hansen has been great as of late and deserves a lot of credit for Horvat/Kennins success of late. He made a great play along the boards that led to Horvat's goal.

Exactly. I bet Hansen thought what a great time he would have in WPG so smashing into Miller makes sense

Hopefully Higgins takes Lack out...

I remember last week or something I was wondering why people were clamoring for a goalie trade cause I was sure that one of our goalies were gunna go down.

I think Kassian (poor season) or Mathias (UFA) get dealt for a Dman or Centre. I hope Benning keeps or stockpiles picks.

Gotta hand it to both of them though for upping their game before the deadline!

McCann gets all defensive zone starts as well.. Has a big league shot. This a slighter Horvat with better speed

What would be the point in trading Kassian?! He's on a roll for us and nothing he would bring back would have the upside or push us over the top at this point... And trading Mathias would just be insane to me considering how he's played for us this.. I would think the canucks brass would be looking at an extension not a trade

mini rebuild if they aren't happy with his development/attitude. WD and management have to be wondering if his positive steps are sustainable or if it is only there in spurts.

Trading Kassian isn't going to happen at the TDL. He should still get some more time to develop before writing him off as another Jim Sandlak. Maybe Benning will see what he can squeeze out of other teams with pending UFA's like Mathias or Dorsett. I don't think much will happen for the Nucks at the deadline.

Not sure there would be much downside to trading him too be honest, unless he manages to develop into a better player...something which I'm not 100% sure is going to happen. Apart from his recent roll, he's had a disastrous season. Maybe better to let his recent roll snowball into a better return now...but I agree it's a bit of a crapshoot.

Do you think Matthias has played great? He's had some games but not sure an upgrade couldn't be found elsewhere...I like his game, but he hasn't finished that well. He's a big body though and has gotten a little hot recently so again, you might be able to stock the cupboards with some picks or trade for a better player who wants out of a non-playoff team...

I think the team is playing on the enthusiam of youth but I think this will not last.

But I do not see a place for Richardson anymore. And Vey better watch it.

In 15 years, the NHL will make the film: "Kassian: Power Forward" with special appearances by Clark Gillis, Cam Neely and Todd Bertuzzi.

Ok, maybe I am over stating his value a bit.

Getting back some injured D will be key, I'm not sure that the team has missed Bonino and Richardson as much as I would of thought. I think Benning will have to move at least one forward before the deadline as there is no way Kennis or Horvat can be brought back out. I would say the same for Kassian but that is too hard to predict.

Sedin Sedin Vrbata Burrows Kennins Horvat Dorsett Bonino Vey are all here to stay imo.

Higgins Matthias Richardson Kassian Hansen left to fill 3 spots, who do you keep ?

Dorset & Mattias are gonna ask for 3x3
Can they afford them?
What about Sbisa? Isn't he RFA? 2.5 minimum.

Just read about this whole Tom Sestito business.

I can't believe this guy is so CERTAIN that he belongs in the NHL.

I guess that time he got on the power-play last year with the sedins went straight to his head.

Cost too much , wait until free agency. Trading for Yandle or another big name is too expensive.

Clendenning Biega Stanton and Sbisa are fine for 6/7 Dmen.

Kassian has 10 PTs in his last 10 games , maybe he is a top 6 .

I think you might be disappointed by the lack of movement by Canucks over the next week. I think Benning likes this team as is.

- VANTEL

So do I. I'm not willing to make any moves. Its unnecessary at this point in the season taking in all the factors that got us here.
