I don't understand the Demko pick except Benning saw him play a lot and liked him. We will almost be lucky to get a 2nd for Lack or Markstrom, seems too high a pick to use on Demko or any goalie.

Using a 2nd on a potential starter is different than trading an established back up or 25 year old ahl starter.
Never like goalies in the first but I don't mind it in the 2nd.

The NHL is a fickle market. Goalies could be a hot commodity in 6 months you never now down the road

I tend to think the goalie market is, in general, fairly saturated. Think about it, there are only really 60 jobs in the NHL, which of course includes back-ups. As such, I wouldn't 'waste' a pick on a goaltender in the first three rounds unless it was an absolute phenomenal generational talent. These days, due to rules, the increased size of equipment and the intensive goalie coaching, means that you don't have to be a superstar to tend the position.

I just can't see it (see my post above). But you are right, you can never tell for certain what the market will ultimately look like down the road.

I think the goalie market is artificially saturated currently because we've seen a lot of inconsistencies in starting goaltenders the last few years. Meteoric rises and falls seem to have made GMs reluctant to make moves for quality goaltenders
Edit: I do agree with you that it is saturated though, just that it shouldn't really be

I see Kesler is still up to his old tricks, the French judge gave him an 8.5

Im not even remotely worried about Lack. He's had a few shytty outings this year. But for the most part has been very solid.

What goalie doesnt have a few shytty outings? It is what it is. I dont think this team is any different than it was two days ago.

Hey Turd. I should clear up that I'm fan of Lack. One of the few that thought VAN didn't need Miller.

I'd trade Bernier or Pavlec for Lack anyday.

I think he was just agreeing with you. Calm down Buff, that's not Evander.

Hi Nucker! (frank) that kid. Jets don't miss him. I really threw his female dog ass in the shower with the track suit on, when he showed the (frank) up late. The bosses say we gotta stick with the other story.

Took his Gold Chain and made a (frank)in spoon. Who don't need a Gold Spoon?

Again, time will tell. I just felt Nylander was possibly the most talented guy in the draft.

I knew it was a long shot, but I was really hoping Draistl would fall to sixth.

If the team looks like this now, keeping the forward depth for the playoffs isn't a bad idea. But if there is a market for expiring contracts, I'd be happy to ship out Richardson and/or Higgins.

Anyone else remember when Gaustad was traded for a 1st round pick? And all so they could lose to Phoenix and then miss the playoffs twice. Maybe we can get something crazy at the last minute.

You think the team moves on from Vey after acquiring him for Garrison basically? I haven't always liked Vey's game but I doubt he is one of the players gone. Also only need to move 2.

Richardson and Higgins I could see being moved but part of me feels like it will be Kassian and Hansen because they have more value.

- belcherbd

I think Vey is gonna be the thirteenth forward until he can replace someone as a centre...

Nope Lack will do just fine, shouldnt get worn out now that the coach has faith in the backup for him, plus now lack will get the games he deserves with all the training he put in in summer/ on breaks

I think Lack will do very were well and if Markstrom shows he can play well in the NHL, perhaps a trade chip in the off season.

Vey can be traded for a second round pick at the deadline.

I don't Know... I like Markstrom a bit more than Lack and I thinks management does as well.... this does provide a good opportunity for Lack to up his trade value though.

Edit: i have faith that Lack will do well just don't think he stays next season

Mattias is going to be asking more then hes worth, and with tanevs big contract comming and dorsetts raise which will probably happen cap will be close. I like matthias depending on what he wants money wise better to get something for him then nothing
- phyllee

This is kinda my opinion. And if Toronto's situation teaches us anything, its don't pay I guy for where he is in your line up. Pay him for where he would be on most teams
