I think you're off the hook capwise but still have to pay.

What if Horton retires due to injury? Serious question.

Is that the reasoning behind this?

Many asking what happens if Horton retires. He won't retire. If he did retire, he wouldn't get paid the money owing him on his contract.

Is it so beyond belief that the people that were fired for incompetent team building, misused and abused Clarkson? Maybe TO just sucks the life out of everyone....maybe Kessel would be a 50 goal scorer somewhere else.

Leafs free up around 5 mill capwise. Its a good deal, he was donkey balls in TO. What they do with that space is more important. They can afford to burn the contract, essentially CBus let them off the hook

As a 3-4 guy, he would be much more effective. All depends if he accepts a lesser role on another team. He doesn't strike me as the team first guy but I could be wrong.

It sounds like he's toast. So basically Leafs got a free buyout. That is (frank)ing awesome.

its not like the leafs aren't going to clean house with the coaches etc, so even if Clarkson pots 20, they can lay it on the fired personnel. great move for the leafs, shame Clarkson didn't work out but now they get to move on.
