Yeah, and I'm not on here complaining and trying to be a jerk cuz it's "Freezing as it's 30 degrees out", it's just been very wacky.
I'm sick of the rain though, a month of no rain would be nice so my damn yard can recover.... - stashu
We are 24 days not over 32. |

If neuvirth is not traded, nolan will ride him untill his legs fall off. Anything but a 30th place finish murray should fire him the day the season ends. - ieetbred
What if Nolan knows he is on the way out and he wants to get us better than 30th to stick it to us? |

As long as we finish last and guarentee one of the top two picks, nolan should get at minimum 30 games next year. If nolan figures a way to propel this team to 29th and we lose the lottery he should be fired. - ieetbred
What growth/improvement has been seen from any players this season? Deslauriers (sp?) is the only "bright spot" IMO as someone actually improving. What has Nolan shown?
Again, it's not to say that he should be getting the overall crap that is a team to be better - we all know they suck, but there aren't even individuals who are showing improvement really! It's the opposite! |

But you do not think it is a very big gap? I would argue its more impressive what eichel is doing in the NCAA vs what mcdavid is doing in the OHL this season. - ieetbred
I don't think the gap is big. Like that guy said
Tavares and Crosby. |

Yes he is the GM we could of won a cup with he has balls ..
if he was our GM for our cup runs we have a cup - gerbe75pts
Disagree. We didn't have a owner that would spend money. We got lucky those two years. thats all |

Sabres’ patience with Nikita Zadorov could be wearing thin
http://www.buffalohockeyb...ov-could-be-wearing-thin/ - gerbe75pts
To be honest, I was kind of surprised he wasn't included in the Evander Kane trade. Even before these issues, I was sure that if the Sabres acquired Kane, Zadorov would be going the other way. |

Tough to argue the improvement angle of that discussion. I will say without another very big move or two this team is further from the playoffs than the basement next season. With the new lottery system a bad start wouldnt be the end of the world for us.
As much as players say they arent there to tank, and i believe that to be 100% true. The environment and vision from management and ownership does not lend to the best play possible on any given night. It can change with or without nolan if the narrative is different. |

Fair enough, i want mcdavid too. I am not to fancy with them advanced stats but i seen an interesting corsi chart for eichel vs the rest of BU. When eichel is on the ice the corsi for BU is 66% Off the ice i believe it was around 53 or 54.
edit: i wonder what this same stat for mcdavid and erie is. |

There's no doubt it can change under Nolan, but what proof is there to keep that going? Would you want to hinge a turnaround on someone who couldn't get individuals to look better, while at the same time seeing regression on some of the "better" players (read: point scorers) all season? |

Solid points. I dont want to hinge a turnaround on young players coming in and being everything everyone will expect them to be. The talent level should be much higher next season, with kane, reinhart if ready, and mceichel pending a last place finish.
I feel like nolan should at least get a shot (on a short leash) with a team not aiming for 30th i guess is all im saying. |

True that, i see strome as another player who will fall victim to the CHL transfer rule. Almost 2ppg playing on a separate line from mcdavid. Probably not ready for the NHL. |

late for practice, and arrived in town a tad late after the all star break
micromanagement 101
instead of worrying about being the last place team in the NHL, deflect the anger on a 19 year old
we are not talking about DUI's, or stealing money from a TGIF table
we are talking about tardiness
give him a game in the presser, and move the (frank) on
but no, this team has to draw poop out and let it go on, and on, and on
I wonder if Kane gets the same treatment when he is late for a meeting/practice
hey Ted Nolan, worry about your (frank)ing special teams instead of a meaningless snooze fest known as a motivational meeting |

Without all the other points people have made this season about player development under him, I would have agreed with the acceptance to keeping Nolan. I'm just too frustrated now that a guy who is praised for "getting the best effort" out of his players hasn't shown that he can do that, so I personally don't want to see that fail with a new crop of actual talent.
I don't mean for this to come off as it seeming like I care about "fairness", but I do agree in some manner that Nolan has been given a bad hand to play with - but he's getting paid millions to do so (I believe) and knew what he was getting into, so that wipes out any fairness argument for me. |

the special teams and lack of shots on goal, esp late in the games all show that Ted needs to be removed at the end of the season |
