I absolutely cannot wait to see the "Inside the Combine" segments and the prospect interviews. Every freaking team is going to be asking him about this. - buffalofan19
So, you drink beer? I think you'll slip to the third round. I can't believe you drink beer in college. |

Deal is: CAR trades D Andrej Sekera to LA for a 2015 conditional 1st RD pick and D Roland McKeown (50th overall in 2014)
No idea how good McKeown is but 50th overall is pretty good, 2nd round pick.
Edit: @FriedgeHNIC 9m9 minutes ago
If LA makes playoffs this year, first rounder is this year. If LA misses, first rounder is next year |

Now let's trade Neuvirth and make sure we at least have him. |

Defense is higher priced than forwards it looks like. If Winnik can go for a 2nd and a 4th and a garbage prospect, I think Stewart can gather us a first and a long term prospect or a 2nd and a B+, A- prospect... which has been reported already. Hope to see Murray use his magic in the next five days |

Wow! Did the Kings overpay or what? The 1st is pegged 14th in a deep draft plus McKeown? I think he was one of their top prospects if I'm not mistaken. |

Oh, come on! You know teams will grill him for this just because they can. It won't affect his draft status. It will just be entertaining. Remember the way Murray grilled Ekblad last year?
Every GM except Murray will allude to the fact that he "picked" Buffalo. |

Gotcha. Still, that is a heavy price to pay for a rental. McKeown is a stud. Plus potentially a top 15 pick in this year's draft? Wow! I'm speechless on this one. The Kings better hope they re-sign Sekera. |

Yea. ..McKeown was a high rated prospect going into last year's draft. Went round 2 #50.
Definitely paid a heavy price for a UFA to be. |

So anyone have any favourites for Buffalo's late first rd pick ?? I have hopes for Jakub Zboril puck moving dmen real good skater gets shots though from point and not scared of contact. If this kid drops to Buffalo could be a huge steal - Therat36

Yep. I would love to have McKeown in our prospect pool. The Kings are dumb on this one. |

That is huge and these prices hopefully inflates the prices of one or two of our rentals. They must expect to re-sign him. |

They must feel he's gonna be re-signed there. Hopefully we'll get a decent return for Stewart. It seems to me based on today's moves we could get a 2nd and a pretty good prospect for him. Teams have interest in him so we'll see. |

I can't imagine they get no more than a 3rd and maybe a 5th or a low prospect for Neuvirth but I'd deal him no matter what. |

The Sabres are still sitting at the bottom of the NHL standings by a fairly comfortable margin and as the trade deadline approaches, Buffalo will no doubt look to move their pending free agents.
However, the Sabres will not be only sellers. General Manager Tim Murray is still looking to add to his roster, for this season and beyond.
Buffalo has already made big moves towards building the roster for the future, with acquiring Evander Kane. The Sabres are looking to add another player that could fit into the Sabres top-six forward role.
The Sabres have one first-round draft pick remaining that they're willing to move with a full cupboard of young talent. A team looking to move a top-six forward with term on his contract would be wise to check in with the Sabres.
Reports have surfaced that the Sabres are interested in Colorado center Ryan O'Reilly. The 24-year-old is exactly the type of the player the Sabres are looking for. The tense relationship between O'Reilly and the Avalanche appears to be coming to the forefront, again.
Colorado will be looking to pick up a young defenseman as a centerpiece to a deal in return.
With trading Joel Armia to Winnipeg, the Sabres have an opening on next season's projected roster. The player may not be added at the trade deadline next week, but the Sabres will certainly be looking to fill that projected void.
Free agency in the summer sets up as a poor class, so look for the Sabres to add via trade. Buffalo will likely continue conversations with teams like Colorado on O'Reilly.
Also, look for them to kick the tires on a few other players who could possibly shake free in the summer like Carolina's Jeff Skinner, Chicago's Patrick Sharp, Edmonton's Jordan Eberle and St. Louis' Patrik Berglund, to name a few.
