Between the oilers and leafs potentially winning the lottery. Us trading the third pick for someone who never lives up to that trade. And my new favourite, drafting Hanifin and having him pull a jack johnson and not sign with us.

He's talked very highly of Strome.

Im still not buying into the panic. He's got the ultimate trump card. like the last win streak, this entire thing hinges on the goaltending.

The moment Neuvirth slips up even in the slightest this thing comes crashing down. Or he could just bypass that and trade him.

And i know the argument is that others will make moves as well but lets not kid ourselves, the gap in talent is insurmountable. If the goalie isn't stealing it for us, we're losing 9/10 times.

There were several that stated prior to the season that goaltending would not be the issue for this team.

In it's history goaltending has never been the issue.

I know losing is what's best but this is all 100% on the team and just about every fan on this board. They picked this strategy and it was either going to yield a top 2 or the most miserable 82 games for the franchise.

The best team in the league doesn't always win it all and the worst roster doesn't always finish last. There's a reality check and it's slowly setting in. Blaming the team for screwing this up is just silly. They don't care about 30th

Sure, Pens had Malkin, fleury and crosby and still finished near the bottom for Stall so its a possibility, but I like talent of the young kids and their effort, I don't' see them finishing lower than 26th next year with McEchiel

Except finishing last isn't awarded via a 4 round playoff, its strictly points based. The worst team will be the worst team as they will have the worst record in the nhl.

Anything less then McEichel is a FAIL, no other players will turn this team around not Hanifan or Strome.
