I think Kassian has gotten the message. Showing management what he can really do or at least showcasing his skills before the trade deadline.
If your Benning, do you keep him now?? - JMD007
Tough to say what that message is though. Only JB, WD and TL know what the hell is going on with Kassian. Tough to move him now that he is playing well but showing brilliance for 9-10 games then going to sleep for 20 ain't gonna cut it. So tough to read the situation on whether he is worth the risk or not... |

I watched some of the India-Pakistan game just because it's supposedly the biggest rivalry in all of sports. It's still too similar to baseball for me to really get into it. I think I'll always be more of a hockey/football fan. Although I do enjoy some basketball(March Madness and the NBA playoffs). - Nucker101
I spent a good chunk of time living in Australia and cricket grew on me. As long as it's understood to be a summertime sport to be watched live with your friends drinking beers for an afternoon it's quite enjoyable. Watching it minute-to-minute, especially Test cricket, is not how it was intended.
Unlike baseball, cricket doesn't try to pretend like it's an action-packed, edge of your seat sport. |

Winnik to the Pens and Tlusty to the Jets.
For the return they got, gotta think that Higgins is at least worth a 2nd rounder. |

Whether you're watching Cricket or Baseball it's a great time for a nap. |

Yet, he was benched by the end of the 3rd as Boston scrambled to tie it up. I don't think they're convinced. |

For what they got for Winnik, Higgins should be worth 2nd and 3rd
Edit: It's a 2016 second rounder |

Jets made the smarter trade IMO. I'd rather pay a 3rd and 5th for Tlusty than a 2nd and 4th for Winnik.
At least this gives me some trade excitement, while I wait for some trade responses in the pool. |

I think part of why TOR had so much interest in Winnik and a guy like Tlusty got traded for less was simply the difference in cap hits. Winnik probably had more suitors than Higgins would. |

Time to move on from Richardson. Injury prone now. Hasn't played a full season since 2010 and we can ill afford to keep him around missing 6-8 weeks every single season. It's bye bye time. |

I actually think Tlusty has something to offer. Could be a regular 50+ pt type player on a team with a decent 2nd line.
Winnik will get a bump if he's playing on either of the top two PIT lines. |

Can someone recap why Marchand got a double minor for roughing?
Love how Lack skated out towards the scrum at the end of the game and was ready to get involved. |

I agree, Tluty is a nice add. He can definitely score.
Winnik was probably acquired to help Pittsburgh's 3rd line, they're bottom 6 has sucked all year. When healthy I think 3 of their top 4 wingers are Perron, Hornqvist, Kunitz and then I guess Winnik has a shot if they prefer him over Downie/Comeau/Bennett. |

Absolutely - at least until the summer then see what might shake lose leading up to the draft. |

Seems that most have come to consensus that Richardson and Higgins should be gone? And second round picks are the going rate. Question is who is taking them? |

Tough place for the Canucks. We have been playing pretty well with all the injuries, and have shown that we can compete and win without Bieksa and Burrows. Seeing the return other players are getting, maybe Benning does need to think about moving some players, especially since the market for D-men is hot.
Bieksa - prospect and a 2nd maybe??
Burrows - prospect and a 2nd or 3rd
Hamhuis - 1st
Higgins- 2nd
Canucks can win without them, come on Benning, lets get some assets!!
Disclaimer- market value of above players might drastically vary |

Probably true, but I don't think Perron is a staple in the top 6 like Hornquist and Kunitz are (and Dupuis on Crosby's line when healthy). Comeau has been getting some extended looks on the Malkin line along with Perron in the top 6, but either will be shuffled if they get into another scoring funk. I get the impression Bennett and especially Downie have missed their chances to establish themselves in the top 6. |

As long as the return is great I would say just about everyone is available except for Horvat

I believe that is the home crowd fans that rank Higgins as a 2nd round,
Richardson might be but haven't seen enough to rate him there this year. |

Perron is flat out better than the the other bunch, he'd be #3 on their winger depth chart IMO. Especially on the PP. They definitely do need to figure out which wingers work best with Crosby and which ones work best with Malkin. Perron started off on fire, I agree that Downie and Comeau haven't made the most of their chances. I just don't see Winnik as a top 6 winger, even if paired with an elite center. He just doesn't have the puckhandling or scoring ability for it. |
