CAN THE KINGS LOSE PLEASE! I hate the Kings. They don't deserve to be in a playoff spot. |

Tough place for the Canucks. We have been playing pretty well with all the injuries, and have shown that we can compete and win without Bieksa and Burrows. Seeing the return other players are getting, maybe Benning does need to think about moving some players, especially since the market for D-men is hot.
Bieksa - prospect and a 2nd maybe??
Burrows - prospect and a 2nd or 3rd
Hamhuis - 1st
Higgins- 2nd
Canucks can win without them, come on Benning, lets get some assets!!
Disclaimer- market value of above players might drastically vary - JMD007
I don't believe the Canucks can win without any of them in the playoffs. It's been a good month and we've beaten some strong teams (CHI, BOS x 2, NYR, PIT, NYI) but the playoffs are a different animal. I also don't believe the Horvat line will continue to be this productive.
This team is not a contender but I don't think they can send the message to players working their a$$es off to get into the playoffs that we're now going to yardsale it when we're on the post season's doorstep.
We have 2 pending UFAs (Matthias and Dorsett) which won't be traded, so any trade that does materialize will have to be worth it for the team both now and in the future. Draft picks, unless they are great ones, won't meet that objective. |

As long as the return is great I would say just about everyone is available except for Horvat - manvanfan

Why is that? The Kings have mastered the art of cruise control for as long as possible before flipping the switch to champ mode. It probably is a testament to their lack of significant injuries come playoff time over the years, not to mention the energy the entire roster seems to possess while their opponents should the wear of a long season. |

I dunno, with the team playing above expectations I got to wonder if Benning views the above players as expendable or possibly making the team better upon return.
Hard position to be in.

Winning a few games over a short span is not something to sell off parts for. Remember the little run Buffalo went on several weeks ago? They are still awful |

Circumstantial 1st pairing. Hamhuis and Edler are better overall defenseman than Tanev |

For what they got for Winnik, Higgins should be worth 2nd and 3rd
Edit: It's a 2016 second rounder - pker2theend
Leafs retain half his salary/cap hit for a low 2nd round pick?
I don't think the leafs made a good deal at all.
Edit: didn't realize Winnik had a one year, thought it was two left. |

Speaking of trades, I'd love to see Benning make a push for Keith Yandle. |

Apparently the asking price is something like a good, young top 6 forward plus a top prospect or 1st. |

I would imagine that would be quite expensive and likely not worth the cost IMHO. |
