Mark Lazerus: Source says #Blackhawks have significant interest in Cam Atkinson, as well as Antoine Vermette. 1st-rounder likely the asking price, though.

He's the midday sports talk radio show host on 670 the score in Chicago. He's a douche bag - BlazinMike
I haven't heard a lot on 670 that I like. |

Mike Smith is a known actor. His sell on that Shaw incident (and many others) is ridiculous. Have you ever seen him hack guys in front of his net? He's worse than Billy Smith. He dishes out as much as he acts.
Also, in pro sports, guys hate each other but they get traded to the same team all the time and it works out. Hawks team/fans hated Probert when he was on the Wings, but loved him in the Indian Head. I doubt there would be any bad blood if Shaw went to AZ. - Hank3Henshaw
Just throwing that out there. |

Yup. All I care about is that whatever he does he goes all in, goes bold. No halvsies. - Bjm84
Agreed. Build towards next season, by getting some guys with upside and dumping salary, fine. Go for it this year, fine.
But if they nickle and dime this, I'm not going to be happy.

I don't mind Spiegel, but I also don't consider his sources any different than mine, and mine are the same as everyone else's source. - howiehandles
One of the main reasons I don't like him is because he's such a music snobby-elitist. The other reason is because he cries every time Bernstein tells him off or something.
Not that Bernstein is all that great or anything, but hearing Speigel female dog and moan every time he disagrees with Bernstein about something is super annoying and unprofessional imo |

Not sure what you have against him. He's actually a pretty nice guy if you meet him, definitely not a Douchebag.. Not a Hockey Guy by any means, but don't think he purports to be one either. |

To Chicago ($7.564)
Huberdeau ($3.194), Upshall ($3.5), Petrovic ($.87)

To AZ ($2.6)

Atkinson is a smurf and just seems pretty inconsequential and I see the Jackets a lot. Just saying. Ugh. |

Exactly. I would have to think that anything including Atkinson is a no as the Hawks have zero, absolutely zero need for his skillset or abilities. |

Looked plausible until the Arizona part of the deal (Stan doesn't give away 1st round picks and doesn't trade for rentals, let alone two). Plus the Yandle deal will be tough to deal with next season.

I agree 100%. Bowman has been sitting on his hands for 2 years since the Hawks won the cup. Action is NEEDED to make this team a top 4 club in the NHL. Right now they are a top 16 club, nothing more. I said this yesterday but lost my comment in the 40+ pages lol...Would the hawks be better off with Marc Bergevin or Kevin Chevy as GM? hard to say but as Bowman's bad contracts, missed opportunities and general ineptitude as a championship caliber GM continues...his leash is getting shorter...or at least should be...being scotty bowmans son only goes so far... - EnzoD
The next several months may give us the answer.
Is Stan going to be an actor or continue to be a reactor. So far, most of his trades have been dictated to him by the cap. He reacts to the cap and the returns are weak. Aside from Saad his drafting hasn't been that solid either. If the opportunity is there for value - address the cap now - collect younger, lower cost talent and high picks if possible for top 6 replacements.
Time for this front office to manage the cap instead of allowing the cap to manage them.

See my post above for a couple reasons I don't like him. To add to that list, he was a Richard to Mannely when Mannely first joined the show, constantly laughing at him and poking fun at him because he wasn't a polished radio pro. It was just annoying, and I just don't like him. just my opinion. I bet he's not a bad guy in real life, but he just is unprofessional in my opinion |

Great treatise JJ !!!
First things first....Q's D blender is a giant shart stain. And it must END.
Get 2-7 and 4-27 (when he's ready) BACK TOGETHER ASAP.
Saddling Duncs with Runstank night in, night out is tough on the peepers and ticker.
Sit Rozy down for a week or two and get Johns or Dahlbeck up. Rozy's on vapor and his clumsiness is all to apparent too many nights. A decent freshening would do him a world of good imo.
I too have loved the Hawk killer Vermette for years, but as another poster said, the price will be high. It usually is for most flavors of the month.
I really hope this brain trust can go and make a strong strategical move, like they did for Oduya, and get someone that is off enemy radar, and improve the team that way.
It really is time to look outside the org and get a VET now.
Also, it's time to get McNeill, Danault and Garret Ross a shot. They've all languished on the farm too long. GET 'EM UP either individually or all at the same time.
This team NEEDS ENERGY. |

Agree. He seems like a good guy, but he is a music snob. When Bernsie is in his fun character for the day, I like him a lot, but when he comes in firing on everyone, I turn the channel for XRT. Unfortunatley, ESPN radio does nothing for me. Wish GN would have built it out better. |
