As far as all the crazy rumors go, I think some may have some validity to them and others are complete BS. Not sure if Diehl broke a new story or is just hearing about something that went on last year, my guess is the latter. As for #10, I do believe the story about the altercation last year and I do think he has some personal issues that probably stem from inappropriate behavior but I don't believe some of the "extreme rumors" about him because if that was the case there's no way he'd have brought back.

Regardless it will be interesting to see everything play out.

The Hawks core is what sucks up most of that salary. You can point to Crawford's contract but it was in line with similar goalies. Bickell's was bad I don't really see many other bad contracts.

Bickells was bad only in the sense that you could have signed him earlier in the season for half the price he currently gets. On the open market he would have gotten more than he currently is. Whether he actually plays to that salary in the regular season is a totally different argument.

Fair enough - I would have thought Ekblad would be that guy. In any case, it is the framework of how a trade can be made for both today and tomorrow for two teams that I was kind of stressing.

Al, I just mean "dressing room issues" could be as simple as a few players disagreeing on something, or having an argument somebody not liking somebody else on a personal level. Players coming to blows seems to indicate a much more severe problem which could have been brewing for quite some time.

I think most teams at some point or another have locker room "issues". It's just something you have to deal with when you have that many people from different backgrounds all having to work together and play for the same team. A fist fight is usually indicative of a much more severe underlying problem that has likely been building for some time. If there really is this much drama going on behind the scenes then we need to figure out who/what is the problem and find a solution or ship somebody out.

Marchand and Krug got into a fight in practice before then too, nobody got traded out. Things get heated and im sure locker room scuffles happen across the league from time to time, just most of the people there to witness it are players, staff, and coaches only, who dont run to the press to let the world know about it
