maybe it was just the morning workout...they did cancel the morning skate, after all!
- dsav123
I dont know the validity to this considering Kane got injured Tuesday night, the team traveled and didnt practice yesterday, and there was no morning skate today
so not sure when this alleged locker room fight happened since Kanes injury |

I still think Crawford is the locker room problem. I don't think Sharp is the issue I don't know why.... - Sober-Kaner
Hmmm, maybe both? |

Looking forward to the Hawks losing in the 1st round.
Changing of the guard is coming.

how can you argue with his point? Chara, a huge imposing/intimidating mountain of a man, and Lucic, a badass dude no matter if you love him or hate him, both there when Savard got knocked out. - BlazinMike
Lucic, I'd take him in a second, but hate his contract. You're right though, and for that matter the Bruins as a whole are generally a team that doesn't put up with that stuff. |

No I just don't think it's one giant problem but maybe a couple of distinct issues. And I don't know for sure. I know one thing for sure and I am keeping it under my hat for now. |

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and Stan is certainly not above criticism. But can we please dispense with the Stan missed out on Carter and Kesler arguments in addition to the Toews/Kane contracts crippling the team.
Carter and Kesler - if Stan acquired one of those two it would have caused cap issue in the short term and long term. In the short term we'd looking at something like losing Sharp is get Carter or Kesler. Would that have really improved the team? We could argue either way, but the difference would be minimal. In the long term it's likely that Carter or Kesler would have been gone this off season just like Sharp will be. This argument is old and been rehashed several times over, enough is enough.
Toews and Kane - can I please hear some more female doging about how we have two of the top elite forwards in their prime locked up for the long term. It's easy to say that Stan should have signed these guys for $9 - $9.5 million, but none of us were in the negotiations and know what options were available. For all we know Toews and Kane wanted $12 million and Stan got them down to $10.5. This is the cost of doing busy and having 2 superstars on the team. The only other option would have been to trade one or both of them. How would that have worked out? Anyone complaining about these contracts should remember the days when the ABC line was our top unit. So I'll say it again, to those who think Toews and Kane are paid too much - boo (frank)ing hoo, get over it.
Regarding the this trade deadline, yes Stan needs to make a move and yes his job became more difficult. But can we wait until the deadline has passed before ripping Stan apart. If Stan does nothing then he deserves whatever he gets, but until then lets show some patience. - DarthKane
Both vastly superior to Sharp, especially Carter but probably Kesler when healthy.
If Sharp didn't have a no center clause in his contract he would have been a lot more valuable. Instead you get a one dimensional shootah.
Unless Patrick Kane or probably Ovi to a certain extent, strength up the middle is far better than slightly more talented strength on the wing. |

You do realize that even after this season, and the offseason moves the Hawks will need to make, they'll still have one of the top 3-ish rosters in terms of pure talent, right? And infinitely better than the Winnipeg Jets.
Just wanted to toss that out there for you... but you keep lumping an entire fan base with one moron that was plastered at a game. |

Changing of the guard? Who's it going to be, you're certainly not suggesting the Jets.

Thank God for some sanity. Could not agree more.
Also, I love DT as much as anyone else, but what exactly has he done in Florida to warrant his Godlike status from some of the posters on this site? Oh yeah, not so much. Yes he did put together the 2010 team, but let's be honest, some serious luck was involved to be able to get Toews and Kane, and scouting had to be involved in some of the trades that panned out. If he was so great, the panthers should be threatening for the cup every year.

I'd guess it's Crawford. I've had an issue with him ever since I saw that 4 part Epix series. He acted like a jag any time he was asked a question or on camera. This was around the time he had his incident at the concert as well. |

That's cool....at least someone is being honest...
In the end I think all this points to the Hawks not winning the Cup this season...you can't lose a superstar player, not make a quality trade to improve your team and have whatever is going on in the locker room and have a good chance to win the Cup...
At this point Stan should be a seller, and try to unload a bigger contract and try and get a good solid player along with a prospect or picks in return...that way you might have some room to do some fishing in the summer when free agency hits, and maybe get someone who can play a significant role on the lower lines |

I could give a frank if anyone likes or hates my team, especially the Jets. Haven't liked them since Curtin Martin retired. Oh wait, there's another team with that name? |

Give Mike Smith some credit for 2010 too.
Where I disagree with the post is about how getting Kesler or Carter costing Sharp is a horrible thing. I just flatly disagree. |

Gone/out Wheeler, Perreault, Bogosian, Chiarot, Clitsome...
Next shift: Tlusty, Myers, Stafford... |
