Glad I don't have to see that stupid shoot out move that Kane does for the rest of the year. - jetsfan6

Looked plausible until the Arizona part of the deal (Stan doesn't give away 1st round picks and doesn't trade for rentals, let alone two). Plus the Yandle deal will be tough to deal with next season. - BearsnHawks
I would deal Seabrook and give that $ to Yandle but I'm also the guy who wanted Sharp moved 4 years ago soooooo there's that. |

Looking forward to the Hawks losing in the 1st round.
Changing of the guard is coming.
Ever since that hawk fan dumped that beer on Pardy can't stand you guys. - jetsfan6
Yeah really? You didn't think that was funny? Even Pardy was laughing. Yep that one guy is a really good measuring stick for the entire rest of the team's fan base.
You know what though I love Jets fans, so glad you guys got your team back. Probably the best fans of any Canadian team IMO. You don't have to love us, but that is kind of a silly reason to dislike us. |

No I just don't think it's one giant problem but maybe a couple of distinct issues. And I don't know for sure. I know one thing for sure and I am keeping it under my hat for now. - John Jaeckel

And apparently, I'm having an affair with Troy Brouwer - John Jaeckel
It's not an affair if you go and tell everyone about it.
You do have a serious man-crush on Brouwer though and there's nothing wrong with that. I understand how it feels (Frolik). |

JJ, how does this happen on a 2 time Stanley Cup champion, with great veteran locker room leadership in #81, #2, and #7? On top of that, your captain is a great, lunchbucket player. Your best player has turned from party kid to better professional. What am I missing? Has winning gotten the best of them? Salary jealousy? Not enough credit to go around? I don't get it. |

I see a lack of effort from the team when Crawford is playing maybe some of the defensive lapses and bad decisions are done purposefully to try and force managements hand to move Crawford. This team wasn't really in danger of missing the playoffs so a bad month of hockey really wasnt going to cost them anything. I see sharp sticking up for his teammates so that would kind of take him out of the discussion as the problem, if he is a problem why stick up for the guys who don't want you around? The whole concert thing still bothers me you are the starting goalie on a Stanley cup favorite team how about you have some control and not get so drunk you cant walk? |

Interesting...
They'd want more IMO, upper echelon prospect, to be included. |

I think a lot of pro athletes have more of a Type-A personality--everyone wants to be THE man, you know. Everyone wants to be top dog.
But hey, like Flair said: "To be the man, you gotta' beat the man...WOO!" |

Thank God for some sanity. Could not agree more.
Also, I love DT as much as anyone else, but what exactly has he done in Florida to warrant his Godlike status from some of the posters on this site? Oh yeah, not so much. Yes he did put together the 2010 team, but let's be honest, some serious luck was involved to be able to get Toews and Kane, and scouting had to be involved in some of the trades that panned out. If he was so great, the panthers should be threatening for the cup every year. - darkman
Didn't he get them back to the playoffs and win their division pretty quickly when he first got there, and not they're building pretty nice team down there. Not saying he's top GM out there, but he seems to be doing pretty well. |

jj...you make many great points...in particular the over pay of current rostered players and the unwillingness to part with certain "core" players to improve in other areas for example like the addition of a carter or kesler.
but i disagree going out now to bag rentals is vermette and/or petry is a big mistake...
who on the current roster goes and what else do they give to have these guys for 6-8 weeks...he can't afford them next year |
