Not sure anyone - even those in Florida - consider the Panthers a cup threat.

There's a difference between making the post-season, and making a threat.

- TommyHawk

Remember we're Panthers fans just getting in the playoffs is a big deal for us...unfortunately. Maybe one day it will turn in to what you guys have enjoyed. I think we have a good start with the core guys...Bjugstad, Barkov, Gudbranson, Ekblad(who's gonna be a perrenial Norris trophy guy I think).

Honestly, I am going by dailyfaceoff and they have 50 as unconfirmed

Not a shot at you JJ, it's a shot at Lazerus. He comes across as less knowledgeable than 90% of the posters on this board. Every time I hear him on the radio it makes you just kind of wonder if all his coverage is off of message boards and twitter or whether he actually spends any time at games or practices.

Friends fight, brothers fight, emotions run high in a locker room especially with guys you spend a WHOLE LOT of hours with during a season.

It may be nothing, it may be something, until you have specifics it's not worth speculation.

Congratulations

JJ: Great blog, I'm in Fla and going to game tonight, should be interesting to see if there is any payback on Petrovic

- Maggie

I hope not. Unfortunate play, but not vicious. Crap happens in hockey, and we got a tough lose there. But, if Toews or Kane or Keith made that same hit on Crosby or Bergeron or OV and they were hurt like Kane, we would be saying "tough break, but that's hockey". Let it go. Move on. Add some players, play hard...get deep in playoffs....and welcome Kane back in time to wrap up the CUP!!!

There will be no issues with Petrovic tonight. He's not a goon...it was just an unlucky play.

So they're keeping supply high, prices low, pushing frackers out of the market, making oil more preferable an energy choice (vs. alternative)—then they jack prices into the stratosphere?
- John Jaeckel

That, my friends, is how you play with the big boys. Maybe we should have hired A Saudi as our GM

well stratosphere maybe not. Once oil hits a certain price per barrel other methods of extracting energy become viable again and supply will incease. Though in the short run there could be energy spikes but the prices would erode over time. That's only looking at the supply though.

As I think Tberta pointed out demand is a big factor and outside of US and Canada not much currently pushing demand up for now. That could changebut not likely in the 1-2 year time frame.

That's how I see it. Cheaper to produce in Saudi than Canada & other places. Lower prices and make others absorb losses to stifle competition. Also hurts Saudi's enemy--Iran

Oh I applaud the valiant effort that the Panthers are making. I'm actually really glad to see the progress they are making since Tallon took over. He really is a brilliant mind with how he's transformed that club. You guys aren't far from contending. The foundation is there, and once players that aren't cast-offs are brought in, I think you guys will be making a lot of noise real soon.

Comparing Toews to Jordan in this instnace is a strectch. Jordan was the best player ever at least in his time but he was a known Richard. Never heard anything of the sort with Toews.

But I get your point.

- Vark37

Not comparing them as players or what their spot in history is or saying Toews is a Richard like Jordan was...I was just saying that the team leader and most respected person of those Bulls teams was Jordan....Just as Toews is the captain and I think if not the most then one of the most respected players in the Blackhawks dressing room

That's part of it. The other part involves a certain guy who likes to invade sovereign nations, who also happens to be tied to another certain nation building nukes.

Too bad the US can't see the forest thru the trees cuz we're sitting on over a century of petro-energy.

There's value in sitting on that much non renewable energy and being the last one standing with oil

As i said I got your point and am in total agreement. Just wanted to point out that Toews way of doing things seems to be quite different then Jordan who was quite the D hole. Both def leaders though.

Otherwise McD fears he won't be able to sell as many "one goal" t-shirts to all the Chelsea Dagger dancers; you know the clowns the camera spotlights in the crowd on CSN? More egregious than when they used to show the mars light goal light last season.

You guys wont obviously be able to replace Kane, but there are options if you want a scoring Winger....Jagr, Stewart, Gagner, Purcell, Kopecky,Lupol.....plenty of options.
- Jeropotato

In what world is Kopecky a scoring winger? Or Purcell? Lupul is a fragile egg with a contract that runs for two years after this. the rest

I saw the whole Bolland thing coming from a mile away and even though I prepared myself for the terrible signing I was still pissed off when it happened. Way too much money but that is what it takes to lure FA to the Panthers. He's hurt again and we have plenty of Centers who could've acually stayed on the ice and contributed. Maybe one day he'll make up for it come playoff time. I've always been a Sharp fan and would've liked to get him earlier in his career but I liked the fire he showed on the ice Tuesday and I think he can still bring experience and some scoring to help the team...if it happens.
