Easy there big fella, and everyone else, you're getting perilously close to the political there

My wife loves them and nights when we party and do music sometimes I have to listen to them. I will admit that Last Day song is OK, the words are pretty good.
I typically like progressive rock/metal, but diverge all over the place. Only music I really can't stand is pop, most hiphop and modern country music. - kwolf68
Agreed on both, and Myles Kennedy is great too. I really like Alter Bridge - John Jaeckel
AB was OK to me, much better than Creed, but the Tremonti thing really was good. That was an album Tremonti wrote totally for himself. He had always wanted to do that and he's rich and doesn't need to "write a hit" anymore so he had complete freedom to do what he wanted. Some excellent playing on that record. The drummer (the Creed drummer) also showed a hell of a lot more skill on that album than the drumming on Creed's music, which is pretty standard.
Yes he is. Check out his "Tremonti" thing...it's pure metal and it's good. Tremonti can freaking play and his reference points are old Metallica. He's legit. Scott Stapp is UGGH. - kwolf68
I think I saw Scott Stapp by Woodfield holding a "will sing for food sign" the other day. He was right off the 53 exit.
The Saudis are going for market share. . - 333inthe3rd
And taking it from frackers with higher extraction costs than the Saudis. They gain share and eliminate competition - for now. Alternative energy is also a good point but I have seen no comments from them about it as a reason.

They could make noise and maybe even come out of the east with Sharp and Bickell added to that lineup. Gudbranson and Barkov are obviously non starters. Gudbranson and Ekblad look like their version of Keith and Seabrook IMO and Dale doesn't trade Gudbranson types unless he has to. Huberdeau and some other younger pieces can be had though.
Many of us here have known Dale's thinking since his color days with Foley in the 80s. Listening to his analysis night in and night out gives us more insight into his mindset than almost any Panther's fan. - tredbrta
Congrats! I actually live in Illinois and listened to them growing up as well so I guess we both know what he's thinking right?

No worries.... Canada's gonna send the oil through the 'energy east' line to Newfoundland and ship it overseas from there... at full price versus the discounted price gulf refiners would be getting it for...

Was just a refresher course in civics. Had it been political I would have definitely violated many rules of the board. See what tld inactivity by little scottie does to us fans.....

Well now your changing the dynamic as presently put forth. I will revisit after the dealine.

I also am a fan of Mark's side project and you are absolutely right it is much heavier than anything he's done. I do like Alter Bridge as well though. Saw them live in Panama City right on the ocean at Club La Vela or something like that and it was a great night. Nothing like seeing a great live rock show on vacation by the ocean. Those are nights you don't forget.

Not gonna last cuz of the 'energy east' line and there's another one being built going west through burnaby mountain to Deltaport (i believe) and then Canada'll be shipping oil west to Asia. full price versus discounted gulf refiner rates...
Thing is...I loved their old stuff, but I took them to the top of the list after Painkiller. Those guys came out in the 70s and produced an insane album 15 years into their career. The playing of Glenn and KK got BETTER. They were doing a lot of sweeping, fast down strokes, tapping....they just kept changing, branching out, evolving their sound. They did have to bring in Scott Travis to drum, I don't think Holland could have played some of the stuff Travis pulled off. Priest kicks everyone's ass.
To me that's the true definition of greatness. Just doing the same album over and over (AC/DC) while it can be fun, isn't enough for me.

Marc said he had been wanting to do that album for a long time. I applaud him for doing it. He's a level-headed, reasonable, intelligent guy who is a very good player. Which pains me to NOT like Creed, because Marc is totally cool and awesome...glad he did some other stuff I could get into.

It's cuz it isn't. It's not financially viable on a large scale....yet. Give it 20 years. Saudi's are doing the same thing now they did a few decades ago. And for the most part their adversaries, geographically are the same. Actually I tend to believe the hit to fracking is gravy and not the first order affect they desire.
IMO, fracking, heavy oil/tar sands and the like are a quarter-century away from being price competitive to where we see brent crude trading at this time; adjusting for inflation of course.
We've seen close to the bottom for crude for this cycle ($44-$50). I can see it back up to the $75 range in 18-24 months.
