And taking it from frackers with higher extraction costs than the Saudis. They gain share and eliminate competition - for now. Alternative energy is also a good point but I have seen no comments from them about it as a reason. - tredbrta
There's talk of building out a third pipeline going north to the Arctic, not sure how far along this is, but then Canada'll have 3 routes to sea for shipping oil. in case anyone wasn't aware, there's more oil reserves in Canada (mostly Alberta) than middle east. it's gonna find it's way to market sooner rather than later... right now it goes to the refiners in the states at a discount to WTC, but it'll be shipped at full price when the 3 pipelines are built to coast, to coast, to coast |

The Saudis are going for market share. The real question is how much output capacity there is at the lower extraction costs in relation to market demand. If there's not enough, then yes, oil's reascent will continue. Wherever the expensive extraction costs are, I don't think the Saudis believe they have anything at risk by alienation of such places.
Keep in mind that there are possible influences on the demand side, also. China is slowing down, and Europe now has deflation. And slowly but surely, alternative energy is making gains in the marketplace. This could be part of why the Saudis would jump the gun and turn it into a market share game. - 333inthe3rd
The Saudis are behind this whole thing. They fear alternative energy, and are simply trying to kill whatever competition they have. Death by 1,000 cuts. It costs them $10 to get a barrel of oil out of the ground; it costs Brazil $70 to get one out of one of their deep water rigs. The North American shale producers, probably below the mid-40s is where it becomes untenable. Oh, and if they give the Russians and Iranians the high hard one as a result, that's probably fine with them, too. |

They could make noise and maybe even come out of the east with Sharp and Bickell added to that lineup. Gudbranson and Barkov are obviously non starters. Gudbranson and Ekblad look like their version of Keith and Seabrook IMO and Dale doesn't trade Gudbranson types unless he has to. Huberdeau and some other younger pieces can be had though.
Many of us here have known Dale's thinking since his color days with Foley in the 80s. Listening to his analysis night in and night out gives us more insight into his mindset than almost any Panther's fan. - tredbrta
Yes Huberdeau is in play I would think. He has disappointed so far but he is still young. However I think it would have to be the right deal to get Dale to trade him because he is one of his so called guys and Gallant has had success getting the best out of him. |

Thing is...I loved their old stuff, but I took them to the top of the list after Painkiller. Those guys came out in the 70s and produced an insane album 15 years into their career. The playing of Glenn and KK got BETTER. They were doing a lot of sweeping, fast down strokes, tapping....they just kept changing, branching out, evolving their sound. They did have to bring in Scott Travis to drum, I don't think Holland could have played some of the stuff Travis pulled off. Priest kicks everyone's ass.
To me that's the true definition of greatness. Just doing the same album over and over (AC/DC) while it can be fun, isn't enough for me. - kwolf68
Holland's fills were something from a person's 3rd entry level drum lesson. |

The drums on Painkiller are amazing too. GREAT album. I went to see them back in....uhhhh....92? Metal Church, Dangerous Toys, Faster P ussycat, Alice Cooper and Judas Priest. Tickets were like $30 (which was about $10 more than other shows at the time) and worth every penny.
I wasn't the biggest Cooper fan, but the dude put on one helluva show. |

Marc said he had been wanting to do that album for a long time. I applaud him for doing it. He's a level-headed, reasonable, intelligent guy who is a very good player. Which pains me to NOT like Creed, because Marc is totally cool and awesome...glad he did some other stuff I could get into. - kwolf68
My wife and I go to see Alter Bridge almost every time time they come to Chicago. They always play at the HOB and at every show I've been to he has family there so I do believe he is from Chicago or the surrounding area. |

(NEW) McKenzie: #LAKings' cap crunch leaves Pearson, Toffoli at risk for offer sheets. http://t.co/1spMM56jRc - mrpaulish
I thought only the Hawks have cap crunches?
Wait until Kopitar gets Kane/Toews dollars... Also, wait and see what Tarasenko wants. Could very easily want to set a new market.
This is another reason Stan should look at moving out salary now rather than wait until the OS when other team's problems will become more defined. |

LOL I know it. A better drummer was able to carry Priest to new heights.
Maiden didn't need to replace their drummer because he can play. That's not to mention the god-like drummers in bands like Mastodon, Dream Theater, Rush, Tool, etc...who if any of them left you'd have about 5 players capable of handling the gig. |

Scott Travis slayed that album. That album was 'speed metal' in substance and style. I loved every note played on it.
I don't like Alice Cooper at all. His song "18" is really the only song I like. |

Agreed on both, and Myles Kennedy is great too. I really like Alter Bridge - John Jaeckel
Alter Bridge and solo Tremonti simply the best. New Tremonti coming very soon! |

Iranians are the number one enemy of the Saudis.. with the Iranian expansion and potential deal with the west the Saudis are shiiting themselves at the prospect. Iran is the number one target of the Saudis... alternative energy is a joke.. it's not a serious option for economic reasons and for the fact that wind is an environmental disaster (kills tens of thousand birds)... |

Really? I thought he was one of the bigger names for FLA. Him and Barkov, I though. Wasn't Huby rookie of the year a season or two ago? |

I have to say this blog is nuts. You're already at 600+ comments, over 1,000 on the last one. I know Hawks fans are passionate but this is out of control. Congrats man you write a good blog and your fans support you which is rare on here. |

Same here, we also took a trip to Nashville to see them with Staind. Both absolutely great shows |

Sure, that would help. I see you now believe Huberdeau for Sharp is doable so maybe it's just slow recall. You should try some of those memory games or a rubiks cube. May help sharpen your mind. |

The only reason its this active is because we are talking about Scott Stapp and killing birds. Both inherently awful things. |

He's gotta be looking. He has to have several options. He just needs to pull the trigger. |

Which ones and why? The logic is flawed from there. And why do you just assume none of those assets acquired wouldn't be retained? - John Jaeckel
If its Vermette he is looking for around 6M a year. How can they pay that? For a guy who will be 33? Keep sharp then. He has been more productive in his career.

The lunch buffet in S. Florida sucked. Car bomb exploded and Bickell/Shaw had to pull him off the caterer. |
